MOSCOW, June 29. /TASS/: The Covid-19 lockdowns and the ensuing pandemic-linked border closures weakened terrorist activity in Russia and CIS countries, Head of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Anti-Terrorism Center (ATC) Andrey Novikov said in an interview with TASS.

MOSCOW, June 29 (NNN-TASS) – Russia confirmed 6,791 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, raising its total number of infections to 634,437, its coronavirus response centre said, in a statement Sunday.

The death toll grew by 104 to 9,073, while 399,087 people have so far recovered, including 5,735 over the last 24 hours, according to the statement.

Moscow, the country’s worst-hit region, reported 717 new cases, taking its tally of infections to 220,071.

KALININGRAD, June 28. /TASS/: Russia’s travel industry may recover after the coronavirus pandemic by next spring, Head of the Federal Agency for Tourism Zarina Doguzova told TASS.

"Tourism may recover earlier than by the end of 2021, meaning as early as by spring of 2021. Moreover, we suggest that hoteliers and travel agencies together with regions should address extension of this resort season by the end of October 2020," she said.
