Another heavily upgraded Il-76 military transport plane enters trials in Russia

MOSCOW, April 15. /TASS/: The Ulyanovsk-based Aviastar-SP aircraft enterprise (part of the transport aviation division within the United Aircraft Corporation) has completed the heavy upgrade of another Il-76MD-90A military transport plane and delivered it for trials, the enterprise’s press office reported on Wednesday.

Putin says coronavirus situation is under full control in Russia

MOSCOW, April 19. /TASS/: The situation with the novel coronavirus spread in Russia is under full control and all levels of authorities are carrying out a concerted effort, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in his televised address to Orthodox Christians on occasion of Easter.

"All levels of authorities are working rhythmically, in an organized way and responsibly. The situation is under full control," Putin emphasized.

Light aircraft crashes in Russia’s Far East

MOSCOW, April 18. /TASS/: A light aircraft crashed during a training flight near the village of Lesnoye in Russia’s Far Eastern Khabarovsk region, killing three people on board, an emergency source told TASS on Saturday.

"An L-4 light aircraft crashed while performing a training flight. It had three people on board. According to preliminary information, they died," the source said.

At present, emergency services are working at the scene. The cause of the accident is being established.

Russian diplomat urges to fine BBC for biased information on Russia

MOSCOW, April 18. /TASS/: The British regulator, which frequently threatens Russian media with fines, should fine the BBC broadcasting corporation for creating a negative perception of Russia, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Saturday.

The Russian diplomat described on her Facebook account how the BBC provided information on Russia. Russia’s Health Ministry approves using Chinese drug against coronavirus

MOSCOW, April 18. /TASS/: The Russian Ministry of Health believes that there are no obstacles to using the Chinese drug hydroxychloroquine unregistered in the Russian Federation to treat a new coronavirus infection, the ministry’s press service told reporters on Saturday.

Earlier, the Russian Government instructed the National Medical Research Center for Cardiology of the Ministry of Health to use and transfer to other medical organizations unregistered Chinese drug hydroxychloroquine in the amount of 68,600 packages for the treatment of coronavirus infection.

Russian COVID-19 Cases Exceed 30,000 With Daily Record Rise

MOSCOW, Apr 18 (NNN-TASS) – Russia registered a daily record of 4,070 cases, over the last 24 hours, with the total number reaching 32,008.

The death toll climbed to 273 from 232 the previous day, while 2,590 people have recovered, including 286 in the last 24 hours, Russia’s virus response centre said in a statement.

The Altai Republic confirmed its first case, meaning the pandemic has now spread to all of Russia’s 85 regions.

Moscow, the worst-hit city across the country, confirmed 1,959 new cases over the last 24 hours, reporting 18,105 cases so far.
