Chechnya's head hopes that new Russian government will closely cooperate with regions

GROZNY, January 22. /TASS/: Chechnya's head Ramzan Kadyrov has said he hopes that the new Russian government will achieve the goals set by President Vladimir Putin in close cooperation with regions.

"It is known that the government has colossal tasks outlined in Russian President Vladimir Putin's address to the Federal Assembly," Kadyrov wrote on his Telegram account. "I am confident that they will be fulfilled with close cooperation with regions. Today, every official, no matter his position, should work three times as hard," he added.

Upgrade project for Russia’s missile warning system to be completed this year

MOSCOW, January 22. /TASS/: Russia’s RTI Joint Stock Company will complete the upgrade project for Russia’s missile attack warning system radar stations by the end of this year, RTI CEO Pavel Laptayev told TASS. In particular, the company plans to introduce artificial intelligence (AI) elements to the radar system’s electronics.

Federation Council appoints Krasnov Russia's Prosecutor-General

MOSCOW, January 22. /TASS/: Russia’s Federation Council on Wednesday appointed Igor Krasnov as Russia’s Prosecutor-General. The decision was approved unanimously.

President Vladimir Putin submitted Krasnov’s candidature to the Federation Council on Monday. Krasnov, 44, Lieutenant-General of Justice, in his previous capacity of deputy chief of the Investigative Committee oversaw the Main Directorate for Special Investigations and the Main Investigative Department.

PM requests drafting amendments to budget to implement Putin’s address

MOSCOW, January 22. /TASS/: Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has tasked the Finance Ministry and Labor Ministry with drafting amendments to the law on federal budget and the law on budget of the Pension Fund aimed at implementation of President Vladimir Putin’s State of the Nation Address by February 11, according to the statement released on the government’s website on Wednesday.

Putin appoints new Russian cabinet members

MOSCOW, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin appointed new cabinet members on Tuesday, according to the decrees Kremlin published on its website.

According to one of the decrees, the new government has reduced its former ten deputy prime ministers to nine. A former Kremlin aide Andrey Belousov became First Deputy Prime Minister.

Yury Borisov, Yury Trutnev and Tatyana Golikova remain the deputy prime ministers.

WHO's Emergency Committee to convene on novel coronavirus on January 22

MOSCOW, January 20. /TASS/: Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus will hold an Emergency Committee session on the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) outbreak in China on Wednesday, the WHO said in a statement published on its official Twitter account.

"WHO Director-General [Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus] will convene an Emergency Committee on the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) under the International Health Regulations. The Committee will meet on Wednesday, 22 January 2020," the statement said.

Entire crew from burning trawler in Sea of Okhotsk transferred to depot ship

VLADIVOSTOK, January 21. /TASS/: The Vsevolod Sibirtsev depot ship has picked up 47 people evacuated from the Enigma Astralis fishing vessel that had caught fire in the Sea of Okhotsk, the head of Dobroflot company, which owns the depot ship, Alexander Efremov told TASS.

The fire broke out onboard the trawler earlier on Tuesday. Rescuers have arrived at the scene some 130 kilometers from Magadan. According to preliminary data, no one has been injured and there is no environmental threat.

Russian specialists to inspect military facility in Germany under Vienna Document

MOSCOW, January 21. /TASS/: A group of Russian specialists will inspect a military facility in Germany in accordance with the 2011 Vienna Document on implementing confidence and security building measures, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement citing director of the National Nuclear Risk Reduction Center Sergey Ryzhkov.

"A Russian group of inspectors plans to visit a military facility on Germany's territory for assessment," Ryzhkov was quoted as saying.
