Libya's Haftar leaves Moscow without signing ceasefire: TASS

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Khalifa Haftar, commander of the Libyan National Army, has left Moscow without signing a ceasefire agreement drafted at talks in Russia on Monday, the TASS news agency cited the Russian Foreign Ministry as saying on Tuesday.

Haftar had asked for until Tuesday morning to make up his mind on the deal after indirect talks with his rival, Fayez al-Serraj, who heads Libya’s Tripoli-based internationally recognized government, Turkey’s foreign minister said.

Two Moscow courts receive bomb threats, says source

MOSCOW, January 13. /TASS/: Two Moscow district courts have received anonymous bomb threats on Monday, a source in the emergency services informed TASS.

"Koptevsky and Golovinsky courts in Moscow have received emails with bomb threats. They are not being evacuated," the source stated.

A wave of bomb threats began in Moscow, St. Petersburg and other Russian regions in late November 2019. Unknown persons repeatedly call in bomb threats to various facilities: courts, schools, hospitals, airports, train stations. All the previous threats resulted to be false.

Libyan rivals to sign ceasefire deal in Moscow

MOSCOW, Jan 13 (NNN-AGENCIES) — Both sides in Libya’s conflict are expected Monday in Moscow to sign an agreement on the terms of a ceasefire which went into effect over the weekend, ending nine months of fighting after weeks of international diplomacy.

The oil-rich North African country has been wracked by bloody turmoil since a 2011 NATO-backed uprising killed long-time dictator Moamer Kadhafi, with multiple foreign powers now involved.

Two killed, three injured as terrorists shell Syria’s Aleppo

MOSCOW, January 12. /TASS/: Two people were killed and three others were injured when terrorists shelled residential areas in northwestern Syria’s Aleppo on Sunday, SANA news agency reported citing a police spokesman.

Two teenagers are among those wounded, according to the officer.

Several mortar shells fired by terrorists exploded in a residential area of Al-Khalidiyah and in the city’s central street. At least seven shells exploded in the city's residential areas, according to the report.

Russia’s arms exports total $14-15 bln per year, says Deputy PM Borisov

KRASNOYARSK, January 11. /TASS/: Long-term orders of Russian arms by other countries amount to $55 bln, whereas annual exports of local arms and military equipment stand at $14-15 bln, Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov said on Saturday.

"We have guaranteed long-term orders worth $55 bln, while annual sales amount to roughly $14-15 bln," he said.

The share of civil production in the structure of the Russian defense industry’s output went up from 20.9% in 2018 to 24.1% in 2019.

Putin has no doubt Russia will be able to finish Nord Stream 2 construction on its own

MOSCOW, January 11. /TASS/: Russian President Vladimir Putin has no doubt that Russian will be capable of finishing the construction of Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline on its own and the pipeline will be put into operation, the Russian leader said after his talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Moscow on Saturday.

"Yes, we will definitely be able to finish the construction [of the pipeline] by ourselves," Putin assured. "The question is about the timeframe. It is the only question raised in this context."

Merkel says Germany supports Nord Stream 2 implementation

MOSCOW, January 11. /TASS/: Berlin rejects the sanctions against Nord Stream 2 as it is a commercial project, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said at a joint news conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin after the talks in Moscow on Saturday.

"It is an economic project," she said. "Therefore, we believe it to be right."

According to Merkel, Germany does not support the extraterritorial sanctions of the United States, which are targeting the participants in the NordStream 2 project.

Abkhazia’s presidential election rerun set for March 22 - CEC

SUKHUM, January 12. /TASS/: Abkhazia’s Central Election Commission has set March 22 as the date of the rerun presidential election after the previous vote’s outcome was canceled by the Supreme Court, its chief Tamaz Gogiya told reporters on Sunday.

"March 22 [has been set as the election date]. Everyone voted and this decision was passed almost unanimously", he said.

Next OPEC+ ministerial meeting to be held on March 6 in Vienna

MOSCOW, January 10. /TASS/: The next meeting of the joint ministerial committee of OPEC and non-OPEC states is scheduled to March 6 in Vienna, the Organization said on its website on Friday.

An extraordinary meeting of OPEC member-states will take place on March 5, prior to the OPEC+ meeting.

Furthermore, meetings in June were also scheduled. The subsequent OPEC meeting is planned to take place on June 9 in Vienna, followed by the OPEC+ ministerial meeting on June 10.
