Russian firm sues Boeing over Max jet, says defects hidden

MOSCOW (AP) — A Russian aircraft leasing company that ordered 35 Boeing Max jets is suing the U.S. aircraft maker and seeking to cancel the deal, accusing Boeing of hiding defects in the plane that was grounded after two deadly crashes.

The Miami-based lawyer for the leasing company said Tuesday it is the first lawsuit filed against Boeing by a Max customer. He said he is talking to other companies about joining the case.

Lebanese PM asks for Russia’s support in avoiding tensions with Israel

MOSCOW, August 27. /TASS/: Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri asked Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov for Moscow’s support in order to avoid heightened tensions between Lebanon and Israel, the Russian Foreign Ministry informed on Tuesday.

"Due to the incident with Israeli drones in the sky above Beirut on August 25, Hariri has addressed Russia with the request to use its authority and influence to avoid further escalation of tensions between Israel and Lebanon posing a threat to regional security," the ministry reported.

Russian lawmakers don’t plan to meet with US congressional delegations, MP says

ECHR rules Russian government to pay 91,000 euro to widow of murdered assistant prosecutor

The two state leaders mounted the airplane ladder and examined it. Then the Russian and Turkish defense ministers joined the presidents, after which they continued the discussion of what they had seen.

Spacecraft carrying Russia's first humanoid robot docks at ISS

27 August 2019; AFP: It was second time lucky on Tuesday as an unmanned spacecraft carrying Russia's first humanoid robot into orbit docked at the International Space Station following a failed attempt over the weekend.

Kremlin Hopes G7 Will Show “Common Sense” In Restoring Ties With Russia

MOSCOW, Russia, Aug 27 (NNN-TASS) – Moscow expects the Group of Seven (G7) member countries, to be reasonable in the matter of restoring relations with Russia, the Kremlin said.

“So far, it has not been possible to restore relations with some countries, but we hope that common sense will prevail sooner or later,” Kremlin spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, was quoted as saying.

Russian rugby team aims at winning at least one match at 2019 World Cup — captain

MOSCOW, August 26. /TASS/: Winning at least one of the matches at the upcoming 2019 World Rugby Cup in Japan is the main goal of the Russian national rugby team, Vasily Artemyev, the captain of the Russian squad, said on Monday.

The Russian team qualified for the Rugby World Cup series for the first time ever in 2011. The 2011 Rugby World Cup was co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand and Russia did not clear the group stage losing all matches. The national rugby squad missed the 2015 Rugby World Cup in England, as it did not qualify for the global competition.

Consular access to suspected spy Whelan to be provided on August 27 — foreign ministry

MOSCOW, August 26. /TASS/: Consular access to Paul Whelan, a US citizen detained in Russia on espionage charges, will be provided on August 27, the Russian foreign ministry said on Monday.

"We provide regular consular access to Whelan. The next visit is planned for tomorrow. We wouldn’t call it isolation," the ministry said.
