Bikaner, Aug 6 (PTI) A minor was allegedly raped by two men who made a video and circulated it on social media in Rajasthan's Bikaner district, police said Tuesday.

A FIR was registered against Manoj Bishnoi, 20, and Ramdhan Meghwal, 25, under relevant section of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act on a complaint by the victim father, Nokha police station in-charge Bhagwan Sahay Meena said.

The accused are absconding but the police hope to nab them soon, Meena added.

Ajmer, Aug 5 (PTI) Ajmer Sharif Dargah's spiritual head Zainul Abedin Ali Khan on Monday congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for scrapping Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.

Appealing to the people of Kashmir to not be misled by separatists and local political parties in the Valley, Khan called upon them to join the mainstream for progress of their families, society and the country.

Jaipur, Aug 5 (PTI) The Rajasthan legislative assembly on Monday passed a Bill providing for life imprisonment and a fine from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 5 lakh to those convicted in cases of mob lynching leading to victim's death.

'The Rajasthan Protection from Lynching Bill, 2019' was passed by the Vidhan Sabha by a voice vote amid vociferous protest by the opposition BJP, which wanted the Bill to be referred to a select committee.

Jaipur, Aug 2 (PTI) A 15-year-old girl who was allegedly raped earlier this week in Rajasthan's Dausa district died at a hospital here, police said on Friday.

The girl died on Thursday night at SMS Hospital and the cause of her death has not been confirmed yet, superintendent of police (SP), Dausa, Prahlad Singh, said.

According to a complaint filed by the minor's father, the girl was raped on July 28. Police registered a case against an unidentified person on the same day, he said.

Jaipur, Aug 1 (PTI) Six persons have been booked for allegedly raping a girl in Rajasthan's Alwar district, police said on Thursday.

The FIR was registered at Khairthal Police Station on Tuesday on the basis of the complaint by the girl's family, they said.

The girl alleged that she was gang-raped two months ago by the accused, who also recorded the act and threatened her with dire consequences if she disclosed the incident to anyone, police said.

Jaipur, Jul 29 (PTI) A Bahujan Samaj Party leader was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Rajasthan's Alwar district on Monday, police said.

Jasram Gurjar, 40, was the BSP candidate from Behror constituency in the 2018 state assembly elections.

The attackers fired at Gurjar near a temple in Jainpurbas village in Behror, Station House Officer (SHO) Sagun Singh said.

The SHO said Gurjar was rushed to a hospital where he died during treatment.

The body was sent for post-mortem, Singh said, adding that efforts were on to identify and nab the accused.

Alwar (R'than), Jul 28 (PTI) A 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by two men in Rajasthan's Alwar and her nude photographs were circulated online, police said, the incident coming months after the gang rape of a woman in front of her husband in the district triggered outrage.

Jaipur, Jul 24 (PTI) BJP legislators stormed the well of the Rajasthan assembly on Wednesday and raised slogans demanding a reply from the ruling Congress on alleged religious conversions in Ajmer district's Kishangarh town.

Raising the issue in the assembly, Ajmer MLA Vasudev Devnani said there is tension in Kishangarh and alleged that three Christian women were pressurising children aged 12-15 years to convert and lured them by financial support.

Barmer, Jul 21 (PTI) A teenaged girl disturbed with her molestation by a man allegedly committed suicide Sunday by jumping into a pond in Barmer district, said police.

The 19-year old girl was allegedly molested and threatened by her neighbour Narpat Singh some time ago, they said.

The police had already registered a case against accused Singh on July 17, they added.

Following the suicide by girl, the police added relevant section for the offence of abetment of suicide in the case and arrested the accused.

Jaipur, Jul 15 (PTI) A 40-year-old woman was allegedly raped by four people in Rajasthan's Karauli district, police said Monday.

An FIR was registered against Ashok Bairwa, Dinesh Bairwa, Girdhar Sharma and Kailash Sharam under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Scheduled Castes and Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act on Sunday, they said.

A medical examination of the victim was conducted on Monday, police said, adding the matter was being probed.
