India: Woman raped by 2 men in her house in UP's Kanpur

Kanpur (UP), Sep 23 (PTI) Two unidentified men allegedly barged into a woman's house and raped her in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur district, police said on Wednesday.

The incident took place late on Tuesday night in Bidhnu area here, said SHO Pushpraj Singh.

The 45-year-old woman, who is married, told police that she was sleeping in her room when the two masked men barged into her house and raped her.

The men fled when the woman's son woke up hearing the noise, the station house officer said.

India: Devouts now begin prayers at religious places

India: 10 crore in 16 year girl's bank account in UP

Ballia (UP), Sep 22 (PTI) A 16-year-old girl in Uttar Pradesh's Ballia district was in for a shock when she came to know that nearly Rs 10 crore was deposited in her bank account.

According to a complaint, a person named Neelesh Kumar from Kanpur Dehat district had called Saroj two years ago and asked her to send Aadhaar card and photograph in the name of getting funds under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. She did so.

India: UP gangster's shops razed

Lucknow, Sep 22 (PTI) The administration in Uttar Pradesh's Ambedkar Nagar district on Tuesday demolished 20 shops worth around Rs 1.40 crore belonging to gangster Khan Mubarak, an official said.

As many as 35 cases are registered against Mubarak in various districts of the state. The action at a complex in Hansvar market has been initiated under the Gangsters Act, according to the official.

Properties of Khan worth over Rs 3 crore had been seized earlier.

India: Online classes bring complications unduly

India: E-rickshaw swollen on-road giving rise to mishaps

India: Taj Mahal opened for tourists in Agra after 188 days

Agra, Sep 21 (PTI) Agra's Taj Mahal was opened to tourists on Monday after 188 days of its COVID-19-led closure.

The Taj Mahal and Agra Fort were closed to tourists from March 17 amid the COVID-19 outbreak in the country.

With a Delhi resident entering the 17th-century ivory-white marble monument on the southern bank of the Yamuna from its western gate and a Chinese woman from its eastern gate, the duo became the first visitors to the monument after its reopening.

The Nodal Officer Prof Mukesh Singh told that as many as 9461 candidates appeared while 4214 candidates remained absent.
