Egypt to start moving gov't to new administrative capital in December: statement

CAIRO, Nov. 3 (Xinhua) -- Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi instructed on Wednesday the Egyptian government to move offices to a new administrative capital, the presidency office said in a statement.

"The Egyptian government will start the process in December of moving offices to a new administrative capital for six-month trial," said Bassam Rady, spokesman of the presidency.

The move will start after the ongoing preparations for the government buildings and headquarters are finished, he said.

Iran thwarts U.S. attempt to seize Iranian oil in Sea of Oman: state TV

TEHRAN, Nov. 3 (Xinhua) -- The naval force of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) have thwarted a U.S. attempt to take over the Iranian oil in the Sea of Oman, state TV reported.

"The U.S. (forces) confiscated a tanker carrying Iranian exported oil in the waters of the Sea of Oman and transferred the shipment to another tanker trying to lead it to an unknown destination," said the report without specifying the date of the action.

Egypt court lifts freeze on Mubarak sons' assets

03 Nov 2021; MEMO: The Economic Court of Egypt yesterday issued a final ruling to lift the asset freeze on the two sons of the late President Hosni Mubarak after they were acquitted of illicit share trading last year.

The decision allows Alaa and Gamal Mubarak, as well as Gamal's wife, Khadiga El-Gammal, and his children Mahmoud and Farida access to their assets.

Israel, US launch joint military exercise

Abbas heading to Russia soon to revive International Quartet

03 Nov 2021; MEMO: Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas is heading to Moscow soon in an attempt to revive the International Quartet for the peace process, spokesperson Nabeel Abu Rudeineh said yesterday.

According to the London-based Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper, Abbas hopes that Russia will work on reviving the International Quartet.

After 111 days on hunger strike, Palestine prisoner faces imminent death, rights group warns

03 Nov 2021; MEMO: Palestinian hunger strike being held in Israeli jails, Kayed Al-Fasfous, is facing imminent death, the PLO's Prisoners and Freed Prisoners Commission warned yesterday.

In a statement, the body said that Al-Fasfous' health "is quickly deteriorating and he could be declared dead at any moment."

Tunisia judges call for investigation into systematic online smear campaigns

The association said in a statement that judicial, administrative, and financial judges speak to the media as part of their duty to inform the public about their work and the content of official reports issued by the judiciary.

Hackers leak data of Israel LGBTQ community after ransom demand not met

03 Nov 2021; MEMO: A hacker group calling itself Black Shadow has leaked the profile data of hundreds of Israeli members of the LGBTQ community after an Israeli firm refused to pay a $1 million ransom, the Jerusalem Post reported yesterday.

The hackers broke into web hosting company Cyberserve's servers, seized data from gay chat and dating app Atraf, Dan bus company and tour booking company Pegasus.

Afghanistan's last Jew wants $10m to move to Israel

02 Nov 2021; MEMO: Afghanistan's last known remaining Jew, who fled the Taliban's rule last month, is requesting $10 million to be flown to Israel, in addition to money for a winter coat, the Jewish Chronicle reported.

Zebulon Simantov, 62, was flown to a country that has remained unnamed for security reasons, by an Israeli-American businessman, Moti Kahana, but is now in Istanbul, where he is staying in a hotel.
