Indian media hype of Chinese soldiers’ incursion reflects hysteria, hinders military disengagement: observers

BEIJING, Dec 22 (APP): With China and India engaging in multiple rounds of talks through military and diplomatic channels to push forward a solution to their longstanding border row, Indian media driven by malicious intent came up with new claims of “Chinese soldiers’ crossing” into Changthang village in the Nyoma area, east of Leh in Ladakh on the Indian side, before they were “forced” out, all of which were based on speculation over a viral video that made the rounds among local residents.

SIA Delivers First Shipment Of Pfizer-Biontech Covid-19 Vaccines To Singapore

SINGAPORE, Dec 22 (NNN-Bernama) — Singapore Airlines (SIA) delivered the first shipment of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccines to Singapore earlier Monday evening onboard one of its Boeing 747-400 freighters.

“The delivery of this first batch of Covid-19 vaccines to Singapore is an important milestone in the fight against Covid-19, and we are honoured to be able to play a part in this,” said SIA’s Senior Vice President Cargo, Chin Yau Seng, in a statement Monday.

Malaysia To Discuss Haj Conditions, Flexibilities With Saudi Government

PETALING JAYA (Selangor, Malaysia), Dec 22 (NNN-Bernama) — Malaysian government will discuss with the Saudi Arabian government on the conditions and flexibilities for pilgrims from this country to perform haj next year.

First batch of COVID-19 vaccines arrives in Singapore

Singapore, Dec 22 (PTI) Singapore has received its first shipment of COVID-19 vaccines, making it the first country in Asia to take the vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech as it plans to inoculate its 5.7 million people by the third quarter of 2021.

The first batch of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine landed in Singapore on Monday, The Straits Times reported.

Hong Kong protester shot by police last year now in exile - group

Chinese FM calls for early return of U.S. to Iran nuclear deal

BEIJING, Dec. 21 (Xinhua) -- Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Monday that the United States should return unconditionally to the Iran nuclear deal as soon as possible, while lifting sanctions on Iran and third-party entities and individuals.

Wang made the remarks during a video conference of foreign ministers on Iran nuclear issue, saying that, on the basis of a U.S. resumption, Iran should completely resume the fulfillment of its nuclear commitments.

Thailand detects new COVID-19 cluster

21 Dec 2020; AA: Thailand detected a new cluster of coronavirus cases in the country's coastal province near the capital Bangkok.

After months of cases remaining low, the country reported 382 new cases in the past 24 hours, down from 576 cases recorded on Sunday, according to a government statement.

Most of the new infections were found in migrant workers from neighboring Myanmar, who are working in the Samut Sakhon seafood market.

BEIJING, Dec 21 (APP): The China’s National Health Commission has said that fifteen vaccines utilizing five different technologies are under clinical trials in China.

Five are in final stage human trials in countries like the UAE, Brazil and Pakistan.

“After stringent monitoring and observation, no serious adverse event has occurred.

About 60 thousand recipients went to high-risk areas abroad for work, so far serious infections have not been reported,” Zheng Zhongwei, Director, Medical Sci & Tech Development Center, NHC said in an interview.
