Chinese defense ministry opposes planned U.S. drone sale to Taiwan

BEIJING, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese military spokesperson Wednesday firmly opposed and strongly condemned the plan approved by the U.S. State Department to sell aerial drones to Taiwan.

Wu Qian, a spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense, said the sale of U.S. arms to Taiwan is a serious violation of the one-China principle and the three China-U.S. Joint Communiques.

China rejects Indian statement over provisional provincial status to Gilgit-Baltistan

BEIJING, Nov 4 (APP): China on Wednesday rejected Indian statement over the provisional provincial status to Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and called for resolution of Kashmir issue peacefully and properly in accordance with the United Nations Charter, relevant UN Security Council resolutions and bilateral agreements between Pakistan and India.

China acknowledges major progress achieved through CPEC projects

BEIJING, Nov 4 (APP): Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson said on Wednesday that seven years after the launch of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), major progress had been achieved with many projects started or completed bringing more than US$25 billion of direct investments to Pakistan.

During his regular briefing held here, Wang Wenbin particularly mentioned the completion and inauguration of Orange Line Metro Line (OLMT) in Lahore, Pakistan which was first electricity-run public transport project.

Typhoon Molave leaves 39 dead, 44 missing in Vietnam

HANOI, Nov 4 (NNN-Xinhua) – Typhoon Molave has left 39 people dead and 44 others missing in Vietnam’s central and central highlands regions, the country’s Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control said.

The fatalities, up from 36 reported on Tuesday, were recorded in Quang Nam, Nghe An, Dak Lak and Gia Lai provinces, while the missing were reported mostly in Quang Nam and Binh Dinh provinces, according to the committee.

As of 7:00 a.m. local time Wednesday, 26 communes in Quang Nam and Quang Ngai provinces still suffered from power outage.

BEIJING (Reuters) - Chinese social media users watched election day in the United States with bemusement and mockery, as President Donald Trump complained of a “major fraud on our nation” and falsely claimed victory before millions of votes had been tallied.

Seven Militants Killed In Clash With Gov’t Troops In Southern Philippines

MANILA, Nov 3 (NNN-PNA) – Seven suspected militants of the Abu Sayyaf Group were killed in a clash with government troops, near a remote island in the southern Philippine Sulu province, before dawn today, the military said.

Corleto Vinluan, commander of the Western Mindanao Command, said, the fighting broke out before 2:00 a.m. local time, when patrolling troops intercepted a band of terrorists aboard a speed boat, near the Sulare Island in Parang town, Sulu.

Malaysia consistent in supporting Palestine

KUALA LUMPUR,  Nov 3 (NNN-BERNAMA) — Malaysia’s stance in supporting the formation of Palestine as an independent and sovereign state has always been clear and consistent, said Deputy Foreign Minister Datuk Kamarudin Jaffar.

In a statement issued here today, Kamarudin said the country’s stance is in line with the United Nations’ (UN) resolution on the creation of independent Arab and Jewish states with Jerusalem as the capital.
