Pakistani researcher dreams big on Pak-China cooperation in cotton research

BEIJING, Oct 30 (APP): The flow of knowledge is an important part of scientific research and will be really to see Pakistan and China to cope with the climate change and associated risks in cotton.

This was stated by Mian Faisal Nazir, who currently works as a postdoctoral research fellow at Institute of Cotton Research (ICR) of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS).

Typhoon death toll in Philippines jumps to 22, country braces for another storm

MANILA, Oct 30 (NNN-XINHUA) — The death toll from Typhoon Molave has risen to 22, a government disaster agency said on Friday, while the Philippines’ weather bureau announced another storm is on the way.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said in an updated report that four were still missing and 39 injured after the typhoon pounded the Philippines from Sunday to Tuesday, reported Xinhua news agency.

Malaysia Airlines flies 3rd batch of peacekeepers to Lebanon

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 30 (NNN-BERNAMA) — Malaysia Airlines flight MH8496 departed Subang Air Base on Thursday, carrying the third batch of the Malaysian Battalion 850-8 (Malbatt 850-8) for a peacekeeping mission under the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).

The group comprises 215 officers and peacekeepers led by Joint Force Commander, Lieutenant General (RMAF) Yazid bin Arshad. 

Malaysia's Mahathir denies promoting violence with 'right to kill French' posts

KUALA LUMPUR (Reuters) - Former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad on Friday denied promoting violence by saying that Muslims have a right to “kill millions of French people for the massacres of the past” and criticised Facebook and Twitter for taking down his posts.

Mahathir, 95, a respected leader in the Muslim world, posted the comments on his blog, Twitter, and Facebook on Thursday, saying he believed in freedom of expression but that it should not be used to insult others.
