Chinese Naval Training Ship Heading To Philippines After Wrapping Up Friendly Visit To Brunei

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Jun 8 (NNN-XINHUA) – The Chinese naval training ship, Qi Jiguang (Hull 83), which is on a cadet training and visit mission in the far east, departed for the Philippines today, after successfully concluding its goodwill visit to Brunei.

The Bruneian side held a grand farewell ceremony at the Muara Port. More than 200 people, including Chinese Ambassador to Brunei, Xiao Jianguo, defence attache, Dai Qilin, representatives of Chinese companies, local Bruneians, and representatives of the Royal Brunei Navy, went to the port to see off the ship.

Taiwan activates air defence as China aircraft enter zone

TAIPEI, June 8 (Reuters) - Taiwan activated its defence systems on Thursday after reporting 37 Chinese military aircraft flying into the island's air defence zone, some of which then flew into the western Pacific, in Beijing's latest mass air incursion.

China, which views democratically governed Taiwan as its own territory, has over the past three years regularly flown its air force into the skies near the island, though not into Taiwan's territorial air space.

U.S. owes most to developing countries for excessive CO2 emissions: study

BEIJING, June 8 (Xinhua) -- The United States would become the biggest debtor responsible for excessive levels of CO2 emissions by 2050, said a recent study.

Global North countries hold "overwhelming responsibility" for climate breakdown, and could be liable to pay 170 trillion U.S. dollars in compensation by 2050 to ensure climate targets are met, said the study published Monday in the scientific journal Nature Sustainability.

World Bank Forecasts Philippine GDP To Grow Six Percent In 2023

China's exports tumble in May as global demand falters

Philippine court denies bail for top Duterte rival after 6 years detained

Leila de Lima, 63, was hit by a slew of charges in 2017 within months of launching a Senate inquiry into Duterte's bloody "war on drugs", during which thousands of users and dealers were killed by police or in mysterious circumstances.

"Cambodia is one of the countries that has benefited from China's Belt and Road Initiative," Hun Sen said in a speech during the groundbreaking ceremony for Phnom Penh-Bavet Expressway, the kingdom's second Chinese-invested expressway.
