Mumbai, Mar 15 (PTI) A 40-year-old professor in a college in Bandra in Mumbai was arrested on Saturday for allegedly molesting a student while she was answering her second-year Arts paper, police said.

The arrested professor has been identified as Vinod, a Khar police station official said.

"The victim has said the accused, on the pretext of checking her hall ticket, touched her inappropriately," the official informed.

Senior Inspector Gajanan Kabdule said the accused was granted bail by a local court on Sunday.

Mumbai, Mar 15 (PTI) A 22-year-old carpenter was arrested on Sunday for allegedly raping a mentally challenged woman in Vakola in Mumbai, police said.

Dinesh Sharma was raping the 22-year-old woman repeatedly for the past three months in Dutt Mandir locality, and the crime came to light after she got pregnant, said an official.

"She named Sharma after which he was arrested," said the official.

New Delhi/Mumbai, Mar 16 (PTI) Reliance Group Chairman Anil Ambani has been summoned by the ED in connection with its money laundering probe against Yes Bank promoter Rana Kapoor and others, officials said on Monday.

They said Ambani was asked to depose at the Enforcement Directorate office in the Ballard Estate area of Mumbai on Monday as his group companies are among the big entities whose loans allegedly went bad after borrowing from the crisis-hit bank.

Mumbai, Mar 14 (PTI) Yes Bank reported on Saturday a staggering Rs 18,654-crore loss for the December quarter due to higher recognition of dud assets on the books, and an erosion of capital buffers to the brink.

The gross non-performing assets shot-up to Rs 40,709 crore or 18.87 per cent of assets as of December 31, 2019, up from the preceding September quarter's Rs 17,134 crore or 7.39 per cent, which forced the bank to set aside Rs 24,765 crore as provisions for the expected reverses and eroded the bottomline.

Mumbai, Mar 14 (PTI) Three suspected coronavirus patients who were quarantined left a government hospital in Maharashtra's Ahmednagar district on Saturday evening without informing anybody, the police said.

By late night, however, two of them returned to the Ahmednagar district civil hospital. Search was on for the third patient, a Topkhana police station officer said.

Mumbai, Mar 13 (PTI) Forty-four Indian nationals who returned to Mumbai from Iran on Friday were shifted to a quarantine facility set up by the the Western Naval Command (WNC) here, a defence release said.

The Navy has set up a 100-bed quarantine camp in suburban Ghatkopar.

Iran is one of the worst-affected countries by the coronavirus outbreak and the government has been working on plans to bring back Indians stranded there.

Aurangabad, Mar 11 (PTI) The Aurangabad district administration has suspended the annual 'Nath Shashti Yatra' in Paithan town this year in view of the coronavirus scare.

Paithan in Maharashtra was the home town of noted Marathi saint Eknath. Every year, people flock his shrine during the time of the Paithan Yatra, also commonly known as the Nath Shashti Yatra.
