India: Amit Shah flags off 'NaMo Rath'

New Delhi, Mar 4 (PTI) Ahead of the general elections, BJP president Amit Shah Monday flagged off 'NaMo Rath'-- a store on wheels selling merchandise inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The saffron coloured fleet of mini-trucks with huge photos of Modi will tour the nation selling 'NaMo' (Narendra Modi) t-shirts, coffee mugs, caps, face masks, key chains among other merchandise, a party leader said.

India: Woman raped by six in UP; FIR registered

Muzaffarnagar (UP), Mar 5 (PTI) A 23-year-old woman was reportedly abducted and raped by six persons at Dudhli village here, police said Tuesday.

According to a complaint filed by the victim's family, the woman had gone to a wedding function on Sunday when the six men came in motorbikes and took her away. They later gang raped her.

The victim was also threatened not to reveal about the incident to anyone, police said.

An FIR has been registered in the case, they said.

Indian security forces kill 2 Kashmiris in Pulwama

Srinagar, 5 Mar 2019: Two Kashmiris were killed by Indian security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district, Army sources said Tuesday.

Indian security forces alleged that a gunfight broke out at Tral area on Monday with Kashmiri separatists. The security forces had cordoned off the area and launched an operation to flush out the separatists, they claimed.

More than 200 artistes have gathered at the historic monument in Delhi for an innovative two-day event against what they call an "assault on culture" and "attack on democracy" in India. The organisers are calling it a "protest festival".

India: Jet Airways grounds 2 more planes, total 23 out of operations

Mumbai, Mar 3; PTI/GANASHAKTI : Beleaguered carrierJet Airways has groundedtwo more of its aircraft due to non-payment of lease rentals, taking the total number of planes on ground to 23.

With the grounding of two more planes, almost 20 per cent of aircraft in the airlines fleet are now out of operations.

"An additional two aircraft have been grounded due to non-payment of amounts outstanding to lessors under their respective lease agreements," the airline said in a filing to the stock exchanges on Saturday.

India: Madarsa student gets hit by gun shot

KANPUR: Chamanganj’ s busy Ajmeri crossing swarmed with onlookers, police and residents as the shot was suddenly fired during some youths’ bid in testing the gun along the road on Sunday morning. The bullet directly hit into the right leg of 15-year-old Abdul Rehman alias honey, a student of Darul Uloom Masudiya Arfia Madarsa situated at Laxmipurwa.  He was standing at a little distance.
