Modi’s fascist agenda to be exposed in Houston: Gandapur

ISLAMABAD, Sep 22 (APP): Minister of Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan Ali Amin Gandapur Sunday said that Modi’s fascist agenda will be exposed on his arrival in Houston.

He expresses these views while addressing an event organized by the Houston Humanitarian Foundation in US city of Houston, said a statements issued here on Sunday.

He said that more people will protest against Indian Prime Minister than those who will participate in his public gathering.

India: Collegium modifies earlier decision for alleviation of Justice Kureshi

New Delhi, Sep 21; GANASHAKTI - The Supreme Court collegium has recommended the alleviation of Justice Akil Kureshi as the chief justice of the Tripura High Court, modifying its earlier decision of sending his name for the post of the chief justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.

The resolution of the collegium uploaded on the apex court's official website late Friday evening said the modification to recommend Justice Kureshi to the Tripura High Court was taken in the collegium's meeting held on September 5.

Thousands of Swiss protest 5G wireless over health fears

Berne, Sep 21; AFP/GANASHAKTI: Thousands of people protested in the Swiss capital Bern Saturday over the roll-out of a 5G wireless technology across the country, which they fear could damage people's health.

The protesters, many carrying placards, gathered in front of the Swiss parliament building, in a bid to stop the construction of more 5G-compatible antennae.

"The fact that so many people turned out today is a strong sign against the uncontrolled introduction of 5G," said Tamlin Schibler Ulmann, co-president of Frequencia, the group that organised the rally.

India: Babri Masjid demolition case: Special CBI court issues summons to Kalyan Singh

Lucknow, Sep 22 (PTI) A special CBI court here has issued summons to former Uttar Pradesh chief minister and BJP leader Kalyan Singh, directing him to appear before it on September 27 in connection with the Babri Masjid demolition case.

The court is conducting the trial of accused persons, including BJP leaders L K Advani, M M Joshi, Uma Bharti and others for allegedly conspiring to demolish the mosque at the disputed Ram Janmbhoomi-Babri Masjid site in Ayodhya.

India: Maruti to drive in new S-Presso later this month

New Delhi, Sep 21 (PTI) Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) on Saturday said it will launch mini SUV S-Presso later this month, coinciding with the start of the festive season.

The company said the indigenously conceived, designed and developed vehicle is made for India as well as the world.

"Our internal research suggests that the criteria of buying a car for the youth, apart from affordability, acquisition cost and maintenance, now also include design and aesthetics," MSI Executive Director (Marketing & Sales) Shashank Srivastava said in a statement.

India: Onion prices surge to Rs 70-80/kg

New Delhi, Sep 22 (PTI) The Centre is mulling imposing stock limits on onion traders as the retail prices of the key kitchen staple have shot up to Rs 70-80 per kg in the national capital and other parts of the country owing to supply disruption in the wake of excess monsoon rains in the major growing states, according to sources.

India: Petrol price jumps Rs 1.59/ltr, diesel Rs 1.31/ltr

New Delhi, Sep 22 (PTI) Petrol prices have soared by Rs 1.59 a litre and diesel by Rs 1.31 in the last six days -- the most since daily price revision was introduced in 2017, as a massive strike at Saudi Arabian oil facilities jolted oil markets.

Petrol price was on Sunday hiked by 27 paise to Rs 73.62 a litre in the Delhi market -- the benchmark for national rates, according to a price notification by state-owned oil firms.

Price of diesel was increased by 18 paise to Rs 66.74 per litre in Delhi.

India will send man to space by Dec 2021: Sivan

Bhubaneswar, Sep 21 (PTI) ISRO chairman K Sivan Saturday said the country is moving ahead to meet its target of sending man to space by December 2021.

He asserted that though ISRO's plan to soft land Chandrayaan-2's 'Vikram' module on the lunar surface did not go as per script, it will have no bearing with on the 'Gaganyaan' mission.

Stating Chandrayaan-2's orbiter will give data for seven and half years, he (said) all technologies of the moon mission have proved accurate except for the soft landing. "Is not it a success ?" he asked.

India: BJP leader Chinmayanand's rape victim, three friends booked

Shahjahanpur (UP), Sep 21 (PTI) A law student, who accused BJP leader Swami Chinmayanand of rape, and her three friends were booked for extortion by the Special Investigation Team (SIT).

Sources said the SIT also booked the woman on charges of causing disappearance of evidence. The former Union minister was arrested by the SIT on Friday and sent to 14 days' judicial custody.

Ahmednagar (Maha), Sep 21 (PTI) NCP chief Sharad Pawar on Saturday slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the latter's swipe about Pawar `liking' Pakistan, and said it did not behove a PM to speak before verifying the facts.

Addressing a rally in Nashik on Thursday, ahead of Maharashtra elections, Modi alleged that Congress leaders' comments were being used by `other countries' against India.
