PML-N has neither any narrative,nor leadership: Firdous

ISLAMABAD, Jul 1 (APP): Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said on Monday that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz neither had any narrative nor any leadership.

In a tweet, the Special Assistant said that Rana Sanaullah’s confession of rebellion was proof of cracks in the PML- N political camp.

She said that the meeting of PML- N MPAs from Punjab with the Prime Minister was in fact revolt against the dictatorial approach and imperialistic mindset of PML- N leadership as they were not ready for slavery of a family.

India PMI index down to 52.1 in June

MUMBAI, July 1 (Xinhua) -- Indian manufacturing sector lost its growth momentum in June as the Nikkei India Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) went down at 52.1 from a three-month high of 52.7 in the preceding month of May, HIS Markit, a global information provider that compiles the index, said Monday.

A softer increase in new work intakes translated into slower rises in output and employment, while the upturn in quantities of purchases strengthened, the HIS Markit said in a statement.

India proposes meeting with Pakistan on Kartarpur corridor

NEW DELHI, June 30 (Xinhua) -- India has proposed a meeting with Pakistan in the second week of July to finalise modalities and infrastructure requirements to open the Kartarpur corridor, state-run broadcaster -- All India Radio (AIR) said Sunday.

"India has proposed July 11 -- July 14 to Pakistan to hold a fresh round of talks on the Kartarpur corridor," the broadcaster said.

Quoting its sources in foreign ministry, the broadcaster said it shows India's commitment to the corridor.

Shaheen becomes youngest bowler to claim four-wicket haul in World Cup

ISLAMABAD, Jun 30 (APP): Pakistan’s young pace sensation Shaheen Shah Afridi on Saturday became the youngest ever player to take four wickets in a World Cup match.

Shaheen Afridi got wickets of Gulbadin Naib, Hashmatullah Shahidi, Najibullah Zardan and Rashid Khan to finish with bowling figures of 4/47 in World Cup match against Afghanistan at Headingley on Saturday, a private news channel reported.

India's water crisis threatens to halt urban residential construction, leads to rising migration

Taliban offensives kill 19 in S. Afghanistan

KANDHAR, Afghanistan, June 30 (Xinhua) -- A total of 19 people including 11 security personnel and eight members of Kandahar provincial election commission were killed, following series of car bomb attacks, conducted by the Taliban militants in Afghanistan's southern Kandahar province, officials said Sunday.

According to Kandahar police chief Tawdin Khan, 11 security personnel were killed in the blasts and shooting conducted by the Taliban in Marof district late Saturday night and 27 others were injured.

Afghan Taliban say latest talks with US are ‘critical’

ISLAMABAD (AP) — The Taliban said Sunday that the latest round of peace talks with the United States is “critical” as the two sides “rewrite” a draft agreement in which American forces would withdraw from Afghanistan in exchange for guarantees from the insurgents that they would fight terrorism.

New Delhi, Jun 29 (PTI) Upon reopening on July 1 after a six-week summer vacation, the Supreme Court will deal with very sensitive issues, including the Ayodhya land dispute, review pleas in Rafale case and the contempt case against Rahul Gandhi for wrongly attributing to the court his "chowkidar chor hai" slogan.

The top court, which would function with its full judicial strength of 31 judges under the stewardship of Chief Justice (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi, is likely to deliver its verdict in the review pleas in Rafale case.
