03 September 2022; MEMO: The Romanian government has announced that it will buy three unmanned aerial vehicle (UAVs) systems from Turkish defence firm, Baykar, along with logistics support for an estimated $300 million before tax, the Defence Ministry said, Reuters reports.

According to the report, the Ministry said it has requested approval from the Romanian Parliament to begin the tender process to acquire 18 Bayraktar TB2 drones.

New York, Sep 2 (PTI) Laxman Narasimhan, a veteran in leading and advising global consumer-facing brands, has been named as the new CEO of coffee giant Starbucks, joining a growing cohort of Indian-origin business leaders at the helm of global corporations.

Narasimhan, 55 was previously the CEO of UK-based Reckitt Benckiser, a multinational consumer health, hygiene and nutrition company.

Haluk Bayraktar, CEO of Baykar, the drone manufacturer, told Anadolu Agency the share of exports in the company's revenue for this year has reached 98 per cent.

Inflation has surged since last autumn when the lira slumped after the central bank gradually cut its policy rate by 500 basis points to 14 per cent in an easing cycle sought by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

01 September 2022; MEMO: The budget deficit in Tunisia declined 75 per cent during the first half of 2022, amid an increase in the country's fiscal revenue.

This was revealed according to data issued by the Tunisian Ministry of Finance, on Wednesday, which stated that the budget deficit in the first half reached 470.8 million dinars ($147.5 million), down from 1.9 billion dinars ($593.3 million).
