17 August 2022; MEMO: Israel and Turkiye announced the full normalisation of their relations on Wednesday, Anadolu Agency reports.

According to the report, the normalisation agreement was released by Israel's Prime Minister, Yair Lapid's office.

The agreement highlights the new appointments of the ambassadors and consuls to Tel Aviv and Ankara,  the report says.

Russian state gas company Gazprom yesterday warned that European gas prices could rise by 60 per cent to more than $4,000 per 1,000 cubic metres this winter, Reuters reported.

According to the news site, the company's own export and production continues to fall amid Western sanctions.

Western media had reported that Russian gas flows to Europe are at a minimum level this year due to the western sanctions imposed on Moscow as a result of its war on Ukraine.

15 August 2022; MEMO: Saudi Arabia's investment firm, Kingdom Holding Co, invested over $500 million into three major Russian energy companies as Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine, the firm's filings have shown.

According to Kingdom Holding Co's recently-released regulatory filings, the firm invested heavily in the three major Russian energy companies Gazprom, Rosneft, and Lukoil between February and March.

16 August 2022; MEMO: Saudi Arabia is China's "strategic partner", the spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Wang Wenbin, said yesterday.

"China and Saudi Arabia are comprehensive strategic partners," Wenbin said.

"In recent years, with the commitment and guidance from the leaders of both countries, China-Saudi Arabia relations have grown robustly with fruitful cooperation in various areas." Wenbin added.

Taipei, Aug 15 (AP-PTI) Taiwan's President Tsai Ing-wen met Monday with a delegation of US Congress members in a further sign of support among American lawmakers for the self-governing island that China claims as its own territory.

Taiwanese media showed the delegation arriving for the talks, but details of the meeting were not immediately released.

14 August 2022; MEMO: A Turkish military delegation will visit the US on Monday for talks on the sale of F-16 jets to Turkiye, Anadolu Agency reports.

Turkish National Defense Minister Hulusi Akar previously announced that a team will hold the third round of bilateral technical talks following up on US President Joe Biden's pledge to deliver F-16 fighter jets to Turkiye.

New Delhi, Aug 14 (PTI) After turning net buyers last month, foreign investors have become aggressive shoppers of Indian equities and have invested Rs 22,452 crore in the first two weeks of August amid softening inflation concerns.

This was way higher than a net investment of nearly Rs 5,000 crore by Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) in the entire month of July, data with depositories showed.

FPIs had turned net buyers for the first time in July, after nine straight months of massive net outflows, which started in October last year.

Tehran, IRNA – An Iranian diplomat has said that the Islamic Republic is weighing the European proposals to ensure its demands are fulfilled.

An Iranian diplomat, who is informed of the process of the ongoing talks in Vienna, told IRNA that the European proposals would be acceptable if it makes credibility in various matters, including political claims linked to issues of IAEA safeguards, sanctions, and guarantees.

He went on to say that the Islamic Republic is considering European proposals to make sure its demands are fulfilled.

12 August 2022; MEMO: Two more ships carrying wheat and corn departed from Ukrainian ports today under a deal to unblock Ukrainian grain exports, Turkiye's National Defence Ministry said.

The Belize-flagged ship Sormovsky carrying 3,050 tonnes of wheat left the Chornomorsk port destined for Tekirdag, northwestern Türkiye.

The other ship, Marshal Islands-flagged Star Laura, sailed from the Yuzhny port with 60,000 tonnes of corn for Iran.

11 August 2022; MEMO: Turkiye is expecting Saudi Arabia to deposit up to $20 billion into Turkish treasury bonds and accounts in an effort to boost the economically-struggling country's foreign currency reserves, media reports have stated.
