China proposes collaboration with Malaysia in halal, technology sectors

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 7 (NNN-BERNAMA) – China has proposed a collaboration in areas of technology exchange as well as halal products and services with Malaysia during discussions about potential collaboration in the area of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and startups.

Minister of Entrepreneur Development (MED) Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Yusof said the bilateral discussions were held during the 25th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Small and Medium Enterprises Ministerial Meeting (SMEMM) in Concepción, Chile.

Sudan welcomes AU decision to lift its membership suspension

KHARTOUM, Sept 7 (NNN-Xinhua) — Sudan’s Foreign Ministry welcomed the decision by the African Union Peace and Security Council (AU-PSC) to lift suspension of Sudan’s membership at the African Union (AU).

“In the name of Sudan government and people, the foreign ministry warmly welcomes the AU-PSC’s decision to lift suspension of Sudan’s membership at the AU and end freezing its activities,” said the ministry in a statement.

The ministry further reiterated commitment of Sudan, as one the founders of the Organization of African Unity, to the AU’s overall goals.

China, Turkey Sign Two MoU’s To Boost Trade

ANKARA, Sept 7 (NNN-XINHUA) – Turkey and China signed two memorandums of understanding (MoU’s) on Friday, in a joint trade forum to boost bilateral trade.

The agreements were concluded on the China-Turkey Trade and Investment Cooperation Forum, held in Turkey’s Aegean city of Izmir.

The deals were inked between Shanghai International Technology Exchange Centre and the Izmir Chamber of Commerce, on technological and business cooperation, as well as, the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) in Turkey and Sichuan Airlines.

Brazil, Chile to bring Mercosur, Pacific Alliance closer

BRASILIA, Sept 7 (NNN-Xinhua) — Brazil and Chile said here that they will strive to bring the Southern Common Market (Mercosur) and the Pacific Alliance closer.

Brazilian Foreign Affairs Minister Ernesto Araujo and his visiting Chilean counterpart Teodoro Ribera jointly announced their decision to strengthen the ties between the two leading blocs of Latin America.

Thailand Hosts 51st ASEAN Economic Ministers Meeting

BANGKOK, Sept 7 (NNN-TNA) – Thailand is hosting the 51st ASEAN Economic Ministers Meeting and related meetings, with Prime Minister, Prayut Chan-o-cha delivering a welcoming speech, on Friday.

The prime minister spoke highly of ASEAN’s achievements since its establishment 52 years ago, including ASEAN Free Trade Area, which promotes free trade between ASEAN countries by lowering tariffs, ASEAN Economic Community that enhances economic cooperation and ASEAN’s proposal of Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP).

Industry Minister Opens Largest Underwater Theme Park In Bahrain

MANAMA, Sept 7 (NNN-BNA) – Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani, officially inaugurated the largest underwater theme park, Dive Bahrain, which was announced by Personal Representative of the King, Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, President of the Supreme Council for Environment.

The initial phase of the project has been completed recently, by submerging a 70-metre long Boeing 747, 20-22 metres below the water North of Bahrain, to become the first attraction of the 100,000 m2 theme park area.

Brexit deal with UK ‘seems not possible’: Finnish EU presidency

HELSINKI, Sept 7 (NNN-AGENCIES) — An agreement with Britain to avoid a no-deal Brexit now appears impossible as the country is in “quite a mess”, Finland’s prime minister, whose country holds the rotating EU presidency, said Friday.

“I hope that we can reach a situation where this (Brexit) can be solved so that there is no mess, but it seems not possible now,” Antti Rinne told reporters after a meeting with European Parliament president David Sassoli in Helsinki.

Ambani rolls out JioFiber, offering minimum 100 Mpbs internet speed for Rs 699 a month

New Delhi, Sep 5 (PTI) Billionaire Mukesh Ambani's Jio on Thursday announced launch of fiber-based broadband services, offering minimum internet speed of 100 Mbps for a monthly rental of Rs 699.

JioFiber will offer broadband internet speeds of up to 1 Gbps for Rs 8,499 per month, the company said in a statement.

The broadband service will offer unlimited data, free voice calling to anywhere in India as well as TV video calling/conferencing.

India: Mother Dairy hikes cow milk price by Rs 2/litre

New Delhi, Sep 5 (PTI) Leading milk supplier Mother Dairy has increased price of cow milk by Rs 2 to Rs 44 a litre in Delhi-NCR, with effect from Friday.

The retail price has been increased as the company is paying more to farmers for procuring raw milk.

However, there will be no increase in rates of other variants of milk.
