Emirati FM meets Syria's Assad in Damascus in further sign of thawing ties

Iraq, Saudi Arabia discuss ways to boost relations

03 Jan 2023; MEMO: Iraqi President, Abdul Latif Rashid, met with Saudi Ambassador, Abdulaziz Al-Shammari, in the capital, Baghdad, on Tuesday to discuss ways of strengthening relations between the two countries, Anadolu News Agency reports.

A statement by Abdul Latif's office said the Iraqi leader underlined the depth of relations between Baghdad and Riyadh and the need to bolster them to serve the interests of the two countries and serve regional stability.

EU imported six times energy from Russia than has India since February 2022: Indian EAM

Syria opposition to meet Turkiye officials amid accelerating rapprochement with Damascus

02 Jan 2023; MEMO: The National Coalition of Syrian Revolution and Opposition Forces will hold a meeting with Turkish officials on Monday to discuss the recent rapprochement between Ankara and the Syrian regime of President Bashar Al-Assad, media sources reported.

The meeting comes at a time as political rapprochement between Turkiye and the Syrian regime is accelerating at a fast pace, which has caused concern within the Istanbul-based body.

Iran FM meets Saudi counterpart/ Saudi Arabia ready to resume talks

Tehran (ISNA) – Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian held a meeting on Wednesday with his Saudi counterpart on the sidelines of the Baghdad II Conference in Amman, the capital of Jordan.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian wrote on his official twitter account, “I attended the conference to reaffirm my own support for Iraq. On the sidelines of the conference, I had an opportunity to hold meetings with certain counterparts, including from Oman, Qatar, Iraq, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia”.

Iran imports 26,300 new road freight fleets

Tehran (ISNA) - Achieving the target of 20 million tons freight transit in 2023 along the INSTC through Iran's territory demands development of transport infrastructures as well as promoting the fleet. In doing so, Iran deputy minister informed of renewing road fleets and road maintenance machineries.

26,300 new road freight fleets will be added to Iran's fleet, Darush Amani, head of Iran Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization (RMTO), informed.

First direct shipping line launched between China, Iran’s Chabahar

Chabahar, IRNA – The first container ship departing from China docked at Iran’s key port of Chabahar on Saturday, marking the establishment of the first direct shipping line between China and Iran's southeastern seaport.

The announcement was made by Amir Moghaddam, the managing director of the Chabahar Free Zone Organization.

He said that Chinese ships previously unloaded in Bandar Abbas, the capital city of the southern province of Hormuzgan, with their cargos then being transferred to Chabahar in Sistan-Baluchistan Province via smaller ships.

Adani takes control of NDTV, buys promoters' stake at 17 pc premium to open offer price, Roys resign

New Delhi, Dec 30 (PTI) Adani group on Friday gained full control of news broadcaster NDTV after it acquired most of the stake of founders, Prannoy Roy and Radhika Roy, at a premium of almost 17 per cent over the rate it paid to minority shareholders of the firm.

The Adani Group now holds 64.71 per cent of New Delhi Television Ltd (NDTV), according to a regulatory filing.
