12 Nov 2022; MEMO: A Moroccan official has confirmed that the Nigeria-Morocco natural gas pipeline (NMGP) serves 13 African countries, Anadolu Agency reported on Friday.

The 6,000 kilometres of the pipeline will cross the African countries along the Atlantic coast and supply the landlocked states of Niger, Burkina Faso and Mali.

12 Nov 2022; MEMO: US President, Joe Biden, and Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, his Egyptian counterpart, emphasised on Friday their "mutual commitment multifaceted US-Egypt strategic partnership", Anadolu News Agency reports.

Biden and the Egyptian President met on the sidelines of a key UN climate conference, which is being hosted in Egypt's resort town of Sharm El-Sheikh, during which the leaders "firmed their commitment to accelerating global efforts to tackle the climate crisis," the White House said in a statement.

LONDON, Nov 10 (Reuters) - The British government said on Thursday it had frozen assets worth more than 18 billion pounds ($20.5 billion) held by Russian oligarchs, other individuals and businesses sanctioned over Moscow's invasion of Ukraine.

Russia has overtaken Libya and Iran to become Britain's most-sanctioned nation, the Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation (OFSI), part of the finance ministry, said in its annual report.

The frozen Russian assets were 6 billion pounds more than the amount reported across all other British sanctions regimes.

10 Nov 2022; MEMO: Qatar has reportedly provided $1 billion to Egypt's Central Bank, as Cairo continues to suffer from an economic crisis, despite having received tens of billions of dollars from Arab States.

According to Bloomberg, sources close to the matter said that the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) deposited the $1 billion into the Egyptian Central Bank amid discussions between the two nations over the QIA acquiring stakes in major Egyptian companies.

08 Nov 2022; MEMO: Algeria said, Tuesday, it has signed a second 5-year strategic cooperation pact with China, Anadolu News Agency reports.

A Foreign Ministry statement said the plan aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation in different fields, including economy, industry, energy, space and culture.

The statement said the pact was signed by Algerian Foreign Minister, Ramtane Lamamra and his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi.

09 Nov 2022; MEMO: Oman's Energy Minister, Salim Al-Aufi said on Tuesday he saw oil prices coming down from the range of $90 a barrel after the winter season, Reuters reports.

"We don't believe that the current prices are sustainable comfortably," he told Reuters on the sidelines of the COP27 climate conference in Egypt's coastal city of Sharm El-Sheikh.

"We believe after the winter season they will go down … we think it will go to a much more comfortable position in the 70s," he said.

09 Nov 2022; MEMO: Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani said Tuesday that Turkiye can play a key role in Iraq's development, Anadolu News Agency reports.

"We have a high trade volume between the two countries," Al-Sudani told a press conference in Baghdad. "Turkiye is an economically developed country and can play a key role in the development of Iraq," he added.

The Iraqi Premier said that decreased rainfall and the low amount of water coming from Turkiye and Iran create a water problem in Iraq.
