Israeli gov orders demolition of 5 homes, 3 wells in occupied West Bank

09 Jan 2023; MEMO: Israeli occupation authorities notified Palestinians on Sunday of their plan to demolish five homes and three water wells in Masafer Yatta, south of the occupied West Bank.

Local Palestinian anti-occupation activist, Rateb Jabour, said Israeli occupation forces raided the village of Al Jawaya in Masafer Yatta and handed five demolition orders to local residents.

Palestine Rejects, Condemns Israeli Sanctions

RAMALLAH, Jan 7 (NNN-WAFA) – Palestine, yesterday, rejected and condemned the Israeli retaliatory sanctions imposed on the Palestinians.

“The measures taken by the Israeli government, in response to the Palestinian moves at the UN are condemned and unacceptable,” Nabil Abu Rudeineh, spokesman of the Palestinian presidency, said in a statement.

“That Palestinian rights are non-negotiable, and the Palestinian people and its leadership are capable of protecting the rights endorsed by the UN resolutions, whatever the price,” he said.

Israel returns bodies of Palestinians it killed 2 years ago

06 Jan 2023; MEMO: Palestinian authorities on Wednesday received the bodies of two Palestinians withheld by Israel for more than two years.

In a statement, the Palestinian Civil Affairs Ministry said Israeli authorities handed over the body of Ashraf Halaseh, 30, from Al-Sawahreh town in occupied East Jerusalem and Mohammad Amro, 36, from Hebron in the occupied West Bank.

Israel police arrest two suspects in Protestant cemetery vandalism

06 Jan 2023; MEMO: Israeli police said, on Friday, they had arrested two people suspected of vandalising a Protestant cemetery in Jerusalem earlier this week, Reuters reports.

Police said in a statement that extensive damage had been caused to gravestones at the Protestant Mount Zion Cemetery, calling it an "act of intentional vandalism and defacement."

Israel shoots dead 16-year-old Palestinian boy in Occupied West Bank

05 Jan 2023; MEMO: A 16-year-old Palestinian child was shot and killed by Israeli Occupation Forces this morning in the northern Occupied West Bank city of Nablus, reported Wafa news agency.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, Amer Abu Zaytoon, was killed following an Israeli military raid that resulted in him being shot in the head.

Israel UAV crashes over West Bank in latest malfunction

05 Jan 2023; MEMO: An Israeli drone fell out of the sky onto West Bank territory yesterday, in the latest such incident to take place in recent months.

In an announcement by the Israeli military yesterday, it confirmed that an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) of a Skylark model crashed and fell in the northern West Bank for unknown reasons, while it was on a reconnaissance mission.

Palestinian president says releasing all prisoners from Israeli jail "priority"

RAMALLAH/GAZA, Jan. 5 (Xinhua) -- Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Thursday said that releasing all Palestinian prisoners from Israeli jails and prisons "is a priority for the Palestinian leadership."

Abbas made the remarks after the release of Karim Younis, a 65-year-old Palestinian from Israel who spent 40 years in Israeli jails, according to the official Palestinian news agency WAFA.
