UAE: Iran warns of 'harsh consequences' if Gaza attacks continue

DUBAI, Nov 1 (Reuters) - Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian warned on Wednesday of "harsh consequences" if attacks continue on the Gaza Strip, the latest in a series of warnings from the country, which backs Hamas in Gaza and militias elsewhere in the region.

"If an immediate ceasefire doesn't take place in Gaza Strip and the rapid attacks by U.S. and Zionist Regime continue then the consequences would be harsh," he said in Ankara.

UAE: Iran’s Raisi says Israel crossed ‘red lines’

DUBAI, October 29. /TASS/: Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said that Israel had crossed ‘red lines’ that could force everyone to take action.

"Zionist regime’s crimes have crossed the red lines, which may force everyone to take action. Washington asks us to not do anything, but they keep giving widespread support to Israel. The US sent messages to the Axis of Resistance but received a clear response on the battlefield," the president said in a statement on his X (formerly known as Twitter) page.

Iran to host six-nation meeting on Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process

DUBAI/MOSCOW, Oct 22 (Reuters) - Foreign ministers from Iran, Turkey, Russia and Georgia will meet their counterparts from Azerbaijan and Armenia in Tehran on Monday and discuss progress towards a peace agreement between the two South Caucasus neighbours, Iranian state media said.

IRNA news agency quoted the foreign ministry as saying the six countries wanted to talk about regional issues "without the interference of non-regional and Western countries".

Iranian teenager Armita Geravand is 'brain dead': state media

DUBAI, Oct 22 (Reuters) - A teenage Iranian girl, who fell into a coma earlier this month following an alleged encounter with officers over violating the country's hijab law, is said to be "brain dead", Iranian state media reported on Sunday.

Right groups such as Kurdish-Iranian Hengaw were the first to make Armita Geravand's hospitalisation public, publishing photos of the 16-year-old girl on social media that showed her unconscious with a respiratory tube and bandage over her head, visibly on life support. Reuters could not verify the pictures.

Iran sentences 2 journalists for collaborating with US. Both covered Mahsa Amini’s death

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (AP) — A court in Iran sentenced two female journalists to up to seven years in prison for “collaborating” with the United States government among other charges, local reports said. Both have been imprisoned for over a year following their coverage of the death of Mahsa Amini while in police custody in Sept. 2022.

This is a preliminary sentencing that can be appealed in 20 days.

UAE: Iran's Khamenei says Israel must halt assault on Palestinians in Gaza

DUBAI, Oct 17 (Reuters) - Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has described Israel's assault on Gaza as a genocide of Palestinians and said it must stop immediately, state TV reported on Tuesday.

A senior commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) also warned of further action by Tehran-backed militant groups against Israel if it did not cease its attacks.

Israel has bombarded the Palestinian territory of Gaza with air strikes since Hamas fighters burst into Israel from the enclave on Oct. 7 and killed 1,300 people, most of them civilians.

UAE denies 4 Israelis stabbed in Dubai

16 October 2023; MEMO: Dubai Police has denied claims four Israelis were targeted in a stabbing account in the Emirate.

Reports circulating on Telegram groups claim four Israelis were stabbed in the city earlier in the day, however police denied this, taking to X – formerly Twitter – to say: “@DubaiPoliceHQ  denied reports about stabbing 4 Israelis in Dubai. Safety and security are of paramount importance in the UAE.”
