Qatar: 'We will normalise relations with Israel after it commits to Arab Peace Initiative'

09 Jan 2021; MEMO: Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani has confirmed that his country will normalise its relations with Israel if it commits to the Arab Peace Initiative, RT reported on Thursday.

The minister stressed, according to RT Arabic, that Qatar's stance regarding the normalisation of ties with Israel is clear.

Israel army announces 1,149 COVID-19 cases among soldiers

09 Jan 2021; MEMO: The Israeli occupation army announced on Friday 1,149 COVID-19 cases among its soldiers, while 11,024 other soldiers are currently in quarantine, Anadolu Agency reported.

The Israeli army statement noted that 25,685 soldiers had until Friday received the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

Iran bans foreign companies from testing COVID-19 vaccines on Iranians: president

DUBAI (Reuters) - Foreign companies will not be allowed to test COVID-19 vaccines on the Iranian people, President Hassan Rouhani said on Saturday, a day after Iran’s Supreme Leader banned vaccine imports from the United States and Britain.

“Foreign companies wanted to give us vaccines so they would be tested on the Iranian people. But the health ministry prevented it,” Rouhani said in televised remarks, without naming the companies or giving further details.

Iran to expel IAEA inspectors if U.S. sanctions not removed by Feb. 21: lawmaker

TEHRAN, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- A senior Iranian lawmaker warned on Saturday that Iran will expel the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors if the U.S. anti-Iran sanctions are not lifted by Feb. 21, semi-official Mehr news agency reported.

"If the sanctions against Iran, particularly in the fields of finance, banking and oil, are not lifted by Feb. 21, we will definitely expel the IAEA inspectors from the country," Ahmad Amirabadi Farahani, a member of the presidium of Iran's parliament, was quoted as saying.

Turkey accuses Greece of 'pushing innocent people to death'

UAE FM says travel, trade with Qatar to resume within week

08 Jan 2021; MEMO: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash announced on Wednesday that trade and travel between Qatar and Arab states boycotting it would resume within one week of signing the reconciliation agreement in the Saudi city of Al-Ula.
