Jordan King Highlights Role Of Re-Globalisation In Dealing With Global Challenges

AMMAN, Sept 23 (NNN-PETRA) – King Abdullah II of Jordan, said that, countries can only overcome global challenges, including the COVID-19, through re-globalisation, which makes the well-being of all peoples the ultimate goal.

The Jordanian King made the remarks in an address at the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly, held virtually for the first time, in which he emphasised that there will be several global challenges ahead, including food security.

Egypt: Demonstrations continue for third day

Protesters gathered in Giza, Fayoum, Minya, Luxor and Aswan on Tuesday evening, chanting “Don’t fear, Sisi must walk” and “Go Balhah,” in reference to the popular nickname he has been given.

Balhah, or red dates, is a term used for people who claim wit and wisdom but do not possess it.

23 Sep 2020; MEMO: Emirate-backed Yemeni forces on Sunday fired shots to disperse angry protesters who demonstrated against the deterioration of public services in the eastern governorate of Hadhramaut.

Eyewitnesses told the Anadolu Agency that “angry demonstrators blocked the main streets in the city of Al-Mukalla, in the centre of the governorate, and set tyres on fire to protest against the deterioration of public services, mainly the power cuts.”

Violence mounts against Iraqi doctors as COVID cases spike

NAJAF, Iraq (Reuters) - Iraqi doctor Tariq Al-Sheibani remembers little else beyond cowering on the ground as a dozen relatives of a patient, who had just died of COVID-19, beat him unconscious.

About two hours later the 47-year-old director of Al-Amal Hospital in the southern city of Najaf woke up in a different clinic with bruises all over his body.

“All the doctors are scared,” said Sheibani, speaking at his home in Kufa a few weeks after the Aug. 28 attack. “Every time a patient dies, we all hold our breath.”
