G20 finance ministers to hold virtual talks on coronavirus crisis

Riyadh, Mar 31 (AFP/PTI) Finance ministers and central bankers of the Group of 20 major economies will hold a second round of virtual talks Tuesday to push ahead the coronavirus response, the Saudi hosts said.

G20 leaders last week pledged a "united front" in the fight against the pandemic, saying they were injecting 5 trillion into the global economy to head off forecasts of a deep recession.

CAFU To Supply Dubai Ambulances With Free Fuel For Two Weeks

DUBAI, Mar 31 (NNN-WAM) – In further contributions from the private sector, to support the UAE’s efforts against COVID-19, CAFU, the region’s first on-demand fuel delivery app, said, it will provide all ambulances operated by the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, DCAS, with free fuel for a period of two weeks.

The gesture highlights the collaboration between the private and public sectors, in facing challenges in the current critical environment.

Saudi Arabia: More Than 2,500 Persons Leave 14-Day Hospital Facilities With Negative Tests Of COVID-19

RIYADH, Mar 31 (NNN-SPA) – The Ministry of Health affirmed that more than 2,500 cases left health facilities after 14 days, adding that, their COVID-19 tests were negative.

In a statement, the ministry disclosed that, the cases completed all required medical procedures and examinations, amid follow-up of integrated medical cadres, including doctors, specialists and nurses.

Israel Reports 448 More COVID-19 Cases, 4,695 In Total

JERUSALEM, Mar 31 (NNN-MA’AN) – A total of 448 people in Israel tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 4,695, the Israeli Ministry of Health said.

It said the death toll of the virus in the country has hit 16, adding, of the 527 patients being treated in hospitals across Israel, 79 are in serious condition.

Earlier on Monday, Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, announced further measures to tighten the closure in the country.

Turkish president says 39 locations under quarantine over COVID-19

ISTANBUL, March 30 (Xinhua) -- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday said a total of 39 locations across the country are put under quarantine due to the rising number of confirmed cases for COVID-19.

"Currently, 39 villages and neighborhoods across the country are under quarantine," Erdogan said at a televised address to the nation.

He once again urged Turkish people to perform personal quarantines to help curb the fast-growing spread of the virus.

Qatar Airways to seek state support, warns cash running out

Iran to use 20% of state budget to fight coronavirus

30 Mar 2020; MEMO: Iran is to allocate 20% of its annual state budget to fighting the coronavirus outbreak in the country, one of the worst-hit in the world, President Hassan Rouhani said on Saturday, as reported by Reuters.

Iran’s death toll from coronavirus rose to 2,517 on Saturday, with 139 fatalities in the past 24 hours, as cases rose 3,076 to 35,408, Health Ministry spokesman Kianoush Jahanpour said on state television.

Missiles intercepted above Saudi city Riyadh and Jazan

30 Mar 2020; MEMO: Ballistic missiles were intercepted on Saturday in the sky above Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh and the southern city of Jazan, Reuters reported citing Saudi state media and the Saudi-led coalition fighting in Yemen.

Residents in Riyadh reported multiple blasts around 2320 (2020 GMT), followed by emergency vehicle sirens in some northern districts.

Saudi state news agency (SPA) claimed the missiles were launched by Yemen’s Houthi militia.

Iran urges more Saudi contribution to regional locust fight

TEHRAN, March 29 (Xinhua) -- Iran on Sunday called on Saudi Arabia to contribute more to a fight against the locust plague that threatens crops and food security in the region, Press TV reported.

Red Sea countries, particularly Saudi Arabia, should help Iran collectively fight locust swarms this year that could affect thousands of hectares of more agricultural lands, Mohammad Reza Dargahi, head of Iran's Plant Protection Organization, was quoted as saying.
