Palestinian Teen Killed In Southern Gaza By Israeli Gunfire

GAZA, Nov 30 (NNN-WAFA) – A Palestinian teenager was killed and another injured on Friday afternoon, by Israeli gunfire, in the east of the southern Gaza Strip.

The Health Ministry in Gaza said, Israeli soldiers shot and killed 16-year-old Fahed el-Astal and wounded another teenager near the border fence.

The teen was shot in his abdomen and died shortly after arriving at the hospital in southern Gaza.

Iraqi prime minister to resign in wake of deadly protests

BAGHDAD (AP) — A day after more than 40 protesters were killed by security forces, Iraq’s prime minister announced Friday that he would submit his resignation to parliament, a step that carried uncertainty for the entire government and stirred fears of a possible political crisis.

The move by Adel Abdul-Mahdi came 13 months after he took office and followed calls by Iraq’s top Shiite cleric for lawmakers to withdraw support. At least four protesters were killed in the hours after the announcement in continuing violence in Baghdad and southern Iraq.

Israel to build 11,000 new illegal housing units in Jerusalem

29 Nov 2019; MEMO: Israel has announced a plan to build 11,000 housing units in the north of the occupied Jerusalem, Israel Today reported yesterday.

The agency said that the new settlement units would be built over an area of 600 dunums in the illegal Atarot industrial settlement in the north of the occupied Jerusalem, noting that the confiscating lands were owned by Palestinians.

Israel targets UNRWA in occupied Jerusalem

29 Nov 2019; MEMO: Heads of the parliamentary blocs of the Likud Party, Yisrael Beiteinu, the Shas party and the United Torah Judaism alliance, as well as the Jewish House and the New Right parties, have signed a bill aimed at banning the activities of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in occupied Jerusalem.

A Likud MK and former Jerusalem’s mayor, Nir Barkat, presented a bill to ban UNRWA activities.

Top Iraq cleric urges lawmakers to reassess government after 400 killed

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iraq’s top Shi’ite Muslim cleric on Friday condemned attacks on protesters and urged lawmakers to reconsider their support for the government, an apparent suggestion that they seek a change of leadership as violence spirals in the war-weary country.

Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani made his remarks after the bloodiest day in weeks of anti-government unrest where security forces have shot dead hundreds of protesters and clashes have begun to escalate in southern provinces.

Turkish FM slams French president's remarks on Turkey's operation in Syria

ANKARA, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu on Thursday slammed French President Emmanuel Macron for his criticism on Turkey's military offensive in Syria against the Syrian Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG).

"Macron cannot be the leader of Europe by wobbling like this ... Macron should not forget, as (German Chancellor Angela) Merkel said, Turkey is a NATO ally. He should stand by the allies," Cavusoglu told reporters at the Turkish parliament.

Turkey to deport 11 French IS suspects: minister

ANKARA, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- Turkey will deport 11 French national Islamic State (IS) suspects to their home country next month, said Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu on Thursday.

"This week we will carry out repatriations (of IS suspects) to Belgium and Ireland on Friday and Saturday. Also, we will send 11 French national Daesh (IS) members back to France at the beginning of December," Soylu stated at a conference on migration in the province of Izmir.

"Turkey is serious about migration management, because the country is serious in fighting terrorism," he said.
