Russia kills 3 civilians in Syria’s Idlib

25 Nov 2019; MEMO: At least three civilians were killed in Russian air strikes in the Idlib de-escalation zone in northwestern Syria, as reported by Anadolu Agency. 

The death toll from the attacks on residential areas in the Idlib de-escalation zone over the past month reached 75, including 13 children, said the White Helmets.

Israel: Netanyahu’s Likud to hold party leadership vote

25 Nov 2019; MEMO: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party will hold a leadership vote, a Likud challenger said on Sunday, as pressure mounted on the veteran leader to step aside after his indictment on corruption charges, Reuters reports.

Israeli media reported the Likud primary would be held in six weeks. A party spokesman was not reachable to confirm the timeline.

Iran says pro-government rally to show the 'real' Iranians

DUBAI (Reuters) - A pro-government rally in Tehran on Monday will show the world who “real” Iranians are, Iran’s Foreign Ministry said, expressing surprise at foreign statements of support for a wave of protests against the authorities over a fuel price rise.

The protests grew into anti-government unrest that saw at least 100 banks and dozens of buildings torched in the worst violence at least since Iran put down a “Green Revolution” in 2009, when dozens were killed over several months.

Turkey not resuming military operation in northeast Syria: security source

ANKARA (Reuters) - Turkey is fully abiding by the agreements it reached with Russia and the United States regarding northeast Syria and is not resuming its military offensive, a security source said on Monday.

Ankara reached separate agreements with Moscow and Washington last month to remove the Kurdish YPG militia from a swathe of land in northeast Syria bordering Turkey, which in return stopped its military offensive against the militia.

Israel: Netanyahu to quit 4 ministerial portfolios

25 Nov 2019; MEMO: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to quit four ministerial portfolios he holds following the indictment against him for bribery, fraud and breach of trust, Haaretz reported yesterday.

According to the Israeli newspaper, the decision is based on the Supreme Court ruling from 1993 which stipulates that then-Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin should fire a minister who was indicted due to the severity of the charges.

Sudan militias move to Libya to support Haftar’s forces

25 Nov 2019; MEMO: Sudanese militias who make up part of the Sudan Liberation Front headed to Libya in support for the forces of Brigadier General Khalifa Haftar, Arabi21 reported yesterday.

The news site said that it obtained an exclusive video showing the Sudanese militias moving from the city of Bani Walid to the city of Tarhouna.

Palestinians to launch protests against U.S. declaration over Israeli settlements

RAMALLAH, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) -- Palestinian officials on Sunday declared launch of protests against the latest remarks by United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on the legality of Israeli settlements in the West Bank.

Officials of various factions and parties said that the protests will kick off with a "Day of Rage" on Tuesday, a day of protests to take place at military checkpoints throughout the West Bank.
