Russian citizen Burkov detained in Israel hopes to return to Russia

JERUSALEM, November 3. /TASS./ Russian citizen Alexei Burkov, who has been held in an Israeli prison by the request of the US since 2015, told reporters at the Israeli High Court of Justice in Jerusalem on Sunday that he expects to return to Russia.

"Return to Russia," Burkov told Russian reporters when asked what he was counting on.

Burkov also called the decision of Israeli Justice Minister Amir Ohana to extradite him to the United States "aggressive."

He made it clear that he wants the documents of his case to be made public.

Turkey's Erdogan may call off U.S. trip after Congress votes: officials

ANKARA (Reuters) - President Tayyip Erdogan may call off a visit to Washington next week in protest at votes in the House of Representatives to recognize mass killings of Armenians a century ago as genocide and to seek sanctions on Turkey, three Turkish officials said.

Erdogan is due in Washington on Nov. 13 at President Donald Trump’s invitation, but said last week that the votes put a “question mark” over the plans.

Iran Threatens To Target U.S. Interests If Attacked

TEHRAN, Nov 4 (NNN-TASNIM) – Iranian forces will target the interests of the United States and its allies, in case of aggression against Iran by Washington, the spokesman for Iran’s Armed Forces said.

“Any place and any territorial point, sheltering the interests of the United States and its allies, would be threatened (in case of aggression against Iran), as Iran has proven that it is capable of doing this,” Abolfazl Shekarchi was quoted as saying, by Press TV.

Khalid Al-Mawali Re-Elected As Head Of Oman’s Consultative Assembly

MUSCAT, Oman, Nov 4 (NNN-ONA) – Khalid bin Hilal Al Mawali, has been re-elected Sunday, as the chairman of Oman’s consultative assembly, Shura Council, for the third consecutive term.

He secured 47 out of 86 votes, while his nearest rival, Yaqoub Al-Harthy, received 14 votes.

On Oct 27, Oman witnessed the Shura Council elections, in which 637 candidates, including 40 women, competed, and 86 members won, including two women.

Israeli Army Drone shot Down over Gaza: Sources

GAZA, Palestine, Nov 4 (NNN-WAFA) – Militants in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip, shot down on Sunday, a drone that belongs to the Israeli army, Palestinian security sources in Gaza said.

The sources told the Hamas-run Satellite Television Channel of al-Aqsa, that airs from Gaza, a “Quadcopter” drone, that belongs to the Israeli army was shot down in the air of the Gaza Strip.

The TV station didn’t give any more details but quoted the sources as saying that militants opened fire and shot down the drone and then confiscated it.

Jewish Settlers Attack Palestinian Family In West Bank

WEST BANK, Palestine, Nov 4 (NNN-MA’AN) – Jewish settlers attacked, this morning, a Palestinian family in the town of Dura, in the southern West Bank and beat its members, despite the presence of Israeli soldiers in the area, according to sources.

Settlers broke into the farming land, west of Dura, located near the Ngihout settlement, forcing the landowners to defend their property.

Israeli settlers have carried out 73 attacks against Palestinians, since the beginning of the olive harvest season, a senior Palestinian Authority official said.
