Iran: Zahedan police chief dismissed over September events

29 October 2022; MEMO: The Iranian authorities have dismissed two security officials, including the city's police chief, in Zahedan in the southeast region of Iran, due to the events of last month that claimed dozens of lives, according to the official media.

Zahedan, the capital of the Sistan-Baluchestan province bordering Afghanistan and Pakistan, witnessed violent events on 30 September in which dozens were killed, including six members of security forces.

29 October 2022; MEMO: The Palestinian National Initiative mourned two members of Palestinian Authority (PA) security services "executed" by Israeli occupation forces at Huwwara checkpoint on Friday.

Early on Friday, Imad Abu Rashid and Ramzi Zbara were killed by the Israeli occupation forces at Huwwara checkpoint at the entrance of the West Bank city of Nablus.

Saudi Arabia, China discuss strengthening mutual ties

The official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported that the two ministers had signed a cooperation agreement between the two countries. Their meeting has come on the occasion of the fourth edition of the Political and Foreign Affairs Committee under the China-Saudi High-Level Joint Committee.

530,000 refugees voluntarily returned to safe zones in Syria

28 October 2022; MEMO: Turkiye has ensured the voluntary return of an estimated 530,000 people to the safe zones in Syria, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday, Anadolu News Agency reports.

"We have ensured the voluntary return of approximately 530,000 people to the safe zones we created in Syria," Erdogan said at an event in the capital, Ankara.
