His school traditionally has emphasized discipline for those caught with e-cigarettes. Punishments become increasingly severe with each offense, from in-school suspensions to out-of-school suspensions and, eventually, notification of law enforcement.

India: Priests slam church head in Kerala over forgery case

Kochi, May 26 (PTI) A crisis loomed large over Kerala's influential Syro-Malabar Catholic Church with priests of an Archdiocese reading out a circular during Sunday mass in churches under its jurisdiction blaming Church head Cardinal George Alencherry over a criminal case filed against a section of priests.

The "unprecedented" move by the priests comes days after they came out openly against the arrest of a 24-year-old man for allegedly forging bank documents against Alencherry, who is also the major Archbishop of the Ernakulam-Angamaly Archdiocese.

India: CBI summons ex-Kolkata police chief on Monday

New Delhi/Kolkata, May 26 (PTI) The CBI has summoned former Kolkata police commissioner Rajeev Kumar on Monday for questioning in connection with the Saradha ponzi scheme case, officials said.

The Central Bureau of Investigation's (CBI's) move came shortly after the West Bengal government reinstated Kumar as the additional director general of the CID.

Zimbabwe mine blast kills 8

HARARE, May 27 (Xinhua) -- At least eight people died at a mine in Mazowe, about 40 km north of Harare, after a mine shaft they were working in collapsed following an explosion, the information department in the Zimbabwean government said Monday.

The Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services posted on Twitter that the incident involved illegal miners.

India: Arunachal CM submits resignation to Governor

Itanagar, May 26 (PTI) Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu and his Council of Ministers Sunday submitted their resignation to Governor Brig (retd) B D Mishra and requested him to dissolve the sixth Legislative Assembly of the state, officials said.

The Governor accepted the resignation and requested Khandu and the Council of Ministers to continue till a new government is sworn in, an official release said.

India: Woman abducted, gang-raped in Rajasthan

Jaipur, May 26 (PTI) A married woman was allegedly abducted and raped by six men in Rajasthan, police said Sunday.

The woman, who was reported missing for over a month, on Saturday filed a complaint against six men -- Vikas Kumar, Rajuram, Deshraj, Balveer, Motaram and Vidhyadhar -- at Ladnu police station in Nagaur district, alleging that she was kidnapped by them and then taken to different places in Sikar and Churu districts where she was raped, they said.

India: Man gets 2-year RI for molesting minor girl in Maharashtra

Thane, May 27 (PTI) A Maharashtra court has sentenced a 27-year-old man to two-year rigorous imprisonment for molesting a teenaged girl.

Special judge (POCSO court) S A Sinha in her order on Friday also imposed a fine of Rs 2,000 on the accused Vilas Kakade.

According to the prosecution, Kakade used to stalk the 15-year-old girl on way to her school in Manpada area of Thane city following which she informed her parents, who warned the accused.

Bitcoin rate rises by 9.4% per day updating year’s record highs

The price of cryptocurrency began to grow significantly in early May of this year.

Sri Lanka detain nearly 100 in anti-terror swoops

Some 3,000 military personnel were deployed in and around the capital as well as other key towns for cordon-and-search activities that began on Thursday, a military official said.

Defying Congress, Trump sets $8 billion weapons sales to Saudi, UAE

26 May 2019; MEMO: US President Donald Trump, declaring a national emergency because of tensions with Iran, swept aside objections from Congress on Friday to complete the sale of over $8 billion worth of weapons to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Jordan, Reuters reports.

The Trump administration informed congressional committees that it will go ahead with 22 military sales to the Saudis, United Arab Emirates and Jordan.
