Palestinian activist Rasmea Odeh forced to leave Germany

29 Mar 2019; DW: The controversial Palestinian activist Rasmea Odeh was ordered to leave Germany on Friday after losing an urgent appeal to have a previous decision revoking her visa overturned.

The decision from Berlin's Foreign Nationals Office to withdraw Odeh's visa on the grounds it would threaten public order was upheld by the Berlin Higher Administrative Court.  

Pompeo informed Lavrov on second wave of Skripal-related sanctions

WASHINGTON, March 29. /TASS/. US State Secretary Mike Pompeo has informed Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov of Washington’s intention to introduce the second set of sanctions related to the Skripal case in a phone conversation in February, a US official told TASS on Friday.

"As you know, the Secretary of State had a call with Russian FM Lavrov in February and informed him that the United States will be taking CBW Act related action," the official said.

French, Belgian special services prepare chemical provocation in Syria

Israeli army tanks strike eastern Gaza

GAZA, March 30 (Xinhua) -- Israeli army tanks stationed on the border between eastern Gaza Strip and Israel struck on Friday night two military posts of the Islamic Hamas movement in southern and northern Gaza Strip, causing no injuries, according to local media reports.

The Gaza-based Al-Quds Radio reported that the Israeli army tanks fired a tank shell at a lookout post that belongs to Hamas militants east of central Gaza Strip close to the border with Israel.

Trump threatens to close southern border next week

WASHINGTON, March 29 (Xinhua) -- U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday threatened to close the nation's southern border with Mexico next week, amid feud over illegal immigration.

"If Mexico doesn't immediately stop ALL illegal immigration coming into the United States through our southern border, I will be closing the border, or large sections of the border, next week," Trump said on Twitter.

He claimed closing off border crossings, key avenues for trade with Mexico, "would be a good thing!"

Trump may discuss Venezuela with Putin soon

U.S. AG tells Congress to expect redacted version of Mueller rep by mid-April

WASHINGTON, March 29 (Xinhua) -- U.S. Attorney General William Barr told Congress on Friday to expect a redacted version of special counsel Robert Mueller's confidential report on the Russia investigation by mid-April, "if not sooner."

"Everyone will soon be able to read it on their own," Barr said in a letter to top Democrats and Republicans on the Senate and House Judiciary committees.

The attorney general also said he's willing to appear before both panels to testify about the Mueller report on May 1 and May 2.

Red Cross to distribute aid in Venezuela

30 Mar 2019; DW: The Red Cross on Friday said it would begin distributing aid in Venezuela in two weeks' time, as President Nicolas Maduro and his opposition rival Juan Guaido continue to vie for power.

Following talks in capital Caracas, International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent head Francesco Rocca said the organization will have "unhindered access to bring humanitarian aid into Venezuela."

European Council summit on Brexit set for April 10

BRUSSELS, March 29. /TASS/. The European Council’s emergency summit on Brexit will take place on April 10 in view of the rejection of another Brexit deal by the UK House of Commons earlier on Friday, European Council President Donald Tusk stated on Twitter.

"In view of the rejection of the Withdrawal Agreement by the House of Commons, I have decided to call a European Council on 10 April. #Brexit," he wrote.
