Pakistan says no terror camps exist on 22 locations shared by India

Islamabad, Mar 28; PTI/GANASHAKTI: Pakistan on Thursday said it examined the 22 "pin locations" shared by India but found no terror camps there and also claimed that it could not establish any links between the 54 people detained by authorities here and the Pulwama attack.

Indian Navy sailor injured during weapon firing drill, dies

Mumbai, Mar 28 (PTI) A 21-year-old Navy sailor, hailing from Tamil Nadu, died after being seriously injured during weapon firing drill onboard INS Gomati off Mumbai coast, an official statement said Thursday.

Mohan Raj, Seaman First Class, suffered a grave injury while carrying out "combat weapon firing drills at sea", a Navy statement said.

He was airlifted to naval hospital INHS Aswini here but succumbed to the injuries, it said.

This followed the most severe rolling blackouts over the past week, which have crippled businesses and industries, hampered transportation and affected over 8 million people at any given time.

Poor management and alleged corruption at Eskom, which provides about 95 percent of the electricity consumed in the country, are believed to be the major factors that have led to the power crisis.

Egyptian pro-democracy activist free after 5 years in prison

The terms of his release, however, require that he report to a police station every day for the next five years.

EU official urges BiH to form government, implement reforms

SARAJEVO, March 28 (Xinhua) -- Visiting EU enlargement commissioner Johannes Hahn on Thursday urged Bosnia and Herzegovina's authorities to form a government quickly in order to resume reforms.

During a meeting with Chairman of BiH Presidency Milorad Dodik and Presidency members Sefik Dzaferovic and Zeljko Komsic, Hahn said the European Commission is working on the preparation of an opinion on the country's responses on 3,242 questions.

The long-term bed-rest study, aimed at understanding the impact of microgravity on astronauts during extended space travel to the moon and Mars, involves 12 men and 12 women remaining in bed for two months at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in Cologne.

Libyan army arrests more than 100 illegal immigrants

TRIPOLI, March 29 (Xinhua) -- Libya's eastern-based army on Thursday said it arrested more than 100 illegal immigrants in the northeastern city of Tobruk.

A total of 43 immigrants were arrested in southern Tubrok during a patrol, the army said, adding that another patrol discovered 60 more of them.

Tubruk is located near the Egyptian border, a smuggling hotspot. Libya is a preferred point of departure for illegal immigrants trying to cross into Europe.

Improved weather conditions have increased flows of illegal immigrants recently.

New Delhi, Mar 28; PTI/GANASHAKTI: Actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha, who is all set to quit the BJP, met Rahul Gandhi here on Wednesday and is likely to join the Congress on April 6.

Sinha met Gandhi at his residence here and Congress's Bihar in-charge Shaktisinh Gohil, Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee chief Madan Mohan Jha, working president Akhilesh Singh and the Congress's legislature party leader in Bihar Sadanand Singh were among those present during the meeting.
