28 Jan 2022; MEMO: Armenian Foreign Minister, Ararat Mirzoyan, is to visit Turkey in March, his Turkish counterpart said on Thursday, as the neighbours work to mend ties after decades of animosity, Reuters reports.

Turkey has had no diplomatic or commercial ties with its eastern neighbour since the 1990s. The two are at odds over several issues, primarily the 1.5 million people Armenia says were killed by Ottoman forces in 1915.

YEREVAN, January 6. /TASS/: The Collective Security Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) made the decision to send peacekeeping forces of the Organization to Kazakhstan, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, who chairs the Council in 2022, said on Thursday.

YEREVAN, November 22. /TASS/: The situation at the Armenian-Azerbaijani border remains relatively calm and the Armenian armed forces are in control of border developments, Armenia’s Defense Ministry reported on Monday.

"The situation along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border is relatively calm as of 12:00 (11:00 Moscow time) on November 22 and no provocations from the enemy or a considerable movement of its forces and capabilities have been registered, the armed forces of Armenia are in full control of the operational situation," the ministry said in a statement.

YEREVAN, November 16. /TASS/: The Armenian authorities are addressing Moscow with a call for protecting the country’s sovereign territory from attacks by Azerbaijani forces, the secretary of Armenia’s Security Council, Armen Grigoryan said on television on Tuesday.

"Since there has been an attack against the sovereign territory of Armenia, under the 1997 treaty we are addressing Russia with a call for protecting the territorial integrity of Armenia. A written request is being prepared," he said.

YEREVAN, August 24. /TASS/: The Armenian side lost 3,773 servicemen during the military conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh, while another 243 are still missing in action, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan revealed in parliament during the introduction of a new government on Tuesday.

"We are submitting a new program by the government in an emergency situation where as a consequence of Azerbaijan’s aggression in Karabakh, we lost 3,773 people, while the fate of 243 remains unknown, and some prisoners have not yet returned home," he stated.

YEREVAN, August 18. /TASS/: Armenia is willing to restart the negotiating process at the highest level to settle the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said on Wednesday at a government meeting.

"The OSCE Minsk Group has repeatedly said that the Nagorno-Karabakh negotiating process should be resumed in full. We welcome these statements and this position and are ready to participate in the talks at the highest level," he said.

YEREVAN, July 29. /TASS/: Acting Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Thursday suggested setting up Russian border patrol posts along the entire Armenian-Azerbaijani border.

"Given the current situation, it would be advisable to consider the issue of deploying Russian border guard posts along the entire Armenian-Azerbaijani border. This would provide the opportunity to carry out works on the delimitation and demarcation [of the border] without running the risk of military clashes," Pashinyan told a government meeting.

YEREVAN, July 27 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. disinformation campaign against China, which uses COVID-19 out of geopolitical interests, has hampered global joint efforts against the pandemic and threatened to shatter millions of lives, a leading Armenian political scientist has said.

The United States launched such a campaign to divert attention away from its evident failures in tackling the pandemic domestically, Benyamin Poghosyan, head of the Center for Political and Economic Strategic Studies in Armenia, wrote in an opinion piece published Saturday on the Voice of Armenia newspaper.

YEREVAN, July 18 (NNN-AGENCIES) — Armenia’s constitutional court has ruled that the result of last month’s parliamentary elections, won by the party of acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, be upheld.

Pashinyan’s party won 53.91 per cent of the June 20 vote with former President Robert Kocharyan’s Armenia political bloc, which had challenged the result, trailing with 21.9 per cent.

International observers from the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) had said the elections were competitive and generally well-managed.
