Russia, Iran discuss 're-commitment' to nuclear deal

25 Nov 2020; MEMO: Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, and his Iranian counterpart, Mohammad Javad Zarif, yesterday said their countries were committed "to ensuring the prompt return of all participants to fully observing obligations laid out in the 2015 Iran nuclear deal."

In a phone conversation, the officials also discussed trade and political relations, as well as Syria and Nagorno-Karabakh, according to Reuters.

RUSSIA: Putin calls for solving North Korea’s nuclear problem through talks

People with immunity to COVID-19 can still carry virus, says Russian watchdog

MOSCOW, November 24. /TASS/: People with immunity to COVID-19 can still carry the coronavirus, Head of Russia’s Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing Anna Popova told reporters on Tuesday.

"Immunity is not sterile, which means that the virus can exist in a person who is not ill and has no symptoms. The virus exists on mucous membranes and in other cells of the body," she explained.

Coronavirus situation in Russia mostly under control, Kremlin says

"The president-elect must be announced, the incumbent president himself must recognize the outcome of the election, and all lawsuits must be completed. Only after that the results will be officially summed up," he said. In his view, "it is obvious that this has not happened yet."

Russia: Coronavirus cases in St. Petersburg surpass 100,000 since start of pandemic

MOSCOW, November 23. /TASS/: Coronavirus cases in St. Petersburg grew by an all-time high of 2,926 in the past twenty-four hours to 100,864, according to the data released by the federal anti-coronavirus crisis center on Monday.

On November 22, St. Petersburg registered a record high of 2,668 new COVID-19 cases.

Moscow identified 6,866 new coronavirus cases in the past twenty-four hours, bringing the total coronavirus case tally in the Russian capital to 560,579.

Over 25,000 cases of COVID-19 infection detected in Russia over 24 hours

MOSCOW, November 23. /TASS/: The number of confirmed COVID-19 infections in Russia over the past 24 hours has increased by 25,173, bringing the total to 2,114,502, the anti-coronavirus crisis center told reporters on Monday.

This is the new record high number of infections in the country. The previous record high of 24,822 detected daily cases was documented on Saturday, November 21.

The lowest daily growth rates were registered in the Republic of Dagestan (0.5%), Kalmykia, the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Region (0.6% each), the Republic of Mari El (0.7%).
