Russia says further MH17 consultations with Australia, the Netherlands are meaningless

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russia’s foreign ministry on Thursday said it was pointless to continue consultations with Australia and the Netherlands over the downing of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17, accusing both countries of not seeking to establish what happened.

Russia said investigations conducted had been biased and politicised.

Russia resumes flights with Serbia, Cuba, Japan

MOSCOW, October 14. /TASS/: Considering the decisions by the operational headquarters, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed an order on the resumption of air service with Serbia, Cuba and Japan on a reciprocal basis, an official at the headquarters announced on Wednesday.

Flights Moscow-Belgrade, Moscow-Cayo Coco and Moscow-Santa Clara will be operated twice a week. Three flights will fly to Japan from November 1: two from Moscow to Tokyo and one from Vladivostok to Tokyo.

‘Can’t tango solo': Russia's pursuit for dialogue with West was disregarded, says Kremlin

MOSCOW, October 14. /TASS/: Russia is for continuing a constructive dialogue with the West, but for the time being it has met with no understanding, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told the media on Wednesday.

"The Kremlin sees the need for and usefulness of this dialogue. The Kremlin has systematically pressed for resuming and continuing this dialogue, based on mutual respect. But it is impossible to tango solo," Peskov said.

He stressed that "Russia was not the initiator of curtailing dialogue with its Western partners on all possible tracks."

Vector center registers second Russian COVID-19 vaccine

MOSCOW, October 14. /TASS/: Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced the registration of the second Russian vaccine against coronavirus and the coming registration of the third candidate.

"I would like to begin with pleasant news that the Novosibirsk-based Vector center has registered a second Russian coronavirus vaccine EpiVacCorona," the Russian president said at a meeting with cabinet members on Wednesday.

"As far as I know, we have a third candidate vaccine from the Chumakov center of the Russian Academy of Sciences," Putin said.

Russian-US crew launches on fast track to the space station

MOSCOW (AP) — A trio of space travelers has launched successfully to the International Space Station, for the first time using a fast-track maneuver to reach the orbiting outpost in just three hours.

NASA’s Kate Rubins along with Sergey Ryzhikov and Sergey Kud-Sverchkov of the Russian space agency Roscosmos lifted off as scheduled Wednesday morning from the Russia-leased Baikonur space launch facility in Kazakhstan for a six-month stint on the station.

Minister says Russia’s infectious diseases service was not fully prepared for pandemic

MOSCOW, October 13. /TASS/: The Russian infectious diseases service was not fully prepared to confront the threats posed by the coronavirus pandemic, Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko said on Tuesday.

"Unfortunately, it must be said that the threat models and the orientation of the infectious diseases service did not fully correspond to what we faced," he said at the international online conference titled "Pandemic 2020: Challenges, Solutions, Consequences" at the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA).
