Russia’s top brass confirms military satellite’s exit from orbit

MOSCOW, November 23. /TASS/: The Kosmos-2422 satellite of Russia’s missile early warning system has de-orbited and burnt in the atmosphere, the Defense Ministry said in a statement on Saturday.

"Specialists of the Main Space Intelligence Center of the Aerospace Forces’ Space Troops have confirmed that the fragments of the Kosmos-2422 satellite have exited the orbit," the statement says.

MOSCOW, November 22. /TASS/: About 6,000 Russians are kept at foreign penitentiaries, the deputy director of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s consular department, Ruslan Golubovsky, said at a meeting of the State Duma’s international affairs committee devoted to the protection of Russians abroad.

"About 6,000 Russians having different procedural status - accused, convicts and suspects - are kept at penitentiaries in other countries," he said.

Gazprom’s 3.59% stake to be sold to a single buyer — Moscow Exchange data

MOSCOW, November 22. /TASS/: Gazprom’s 3.59% stake owned by Gazprom Gazoraspredelenie (the holding’s subsidiary) is to be sold to one buyer, according to the Moscow Exchange.

The selling price of the holding’s package was set at 220.72 rubles ($3) per share. Thus, Gazprom shares could be sold for about 187.7 bln rubles ($2.9 bln), Gazprom reported.

 

Russia plans new trials of Tsirkon hypersonic missile before yearend — source

MOSCOW, November 22. /TASS/: New tests of the latest Tsirkon hypersonic missile will take place at a naval range of the Northern Fleet before the end of the year, a source in defense circles of Russia’s North-Western Federal District told TASS on Friday.

"A Tsirkon missile is expected to be launched from the White Sea before the end of the year. The specific date will be set as soon as the technical equipment is ready," the source said.

Specialists are now making a special stand based on a pontoon, from which the latest missile will be test-fired, the source added.
