21 Dec 2022; MEMO: The Free Destourian Party in Tunisia called on President Kais Saied to abolish the results of the parliamentary elections, vacate the seat of president and call for early presidential elections.

The party, which lawyer Abir Moussi heads, addressed Saied saying: "You cannot deny or be ignorant that you have lost your legitimacy and legality as President of the Tunisian Republic and that you are considered a usurper of power."

20 Dec 2022; MEMO: A Tunisian judge has ordered the arrest of former Prime Minister Ali Laarayedh, Arabi21 has reported. According to lawyer Mukhtar Al-Jamie, the arrest took place after a number of hours in the presence of several of his legal colleagues.

20 Dec 2022; MEMO: Former colonial power France has called on Tunisia to carry out necessary reforms of the electoral system after the parliamentary election on Saturday was boycotted by around 90 per cent of voters. The French confirmed their full support for their former colony in light of the challenges Tunisia is facing.

19 Dec 2022; MEMO: Former Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki has called on current President Kais Saied to submit his resignation after the low turnout in the parliamentary elections held on Saturday, following in the footsteps of former French President Charles de Gaulle who had resigned after a majority of the French people rejected government reforms he proposed in 1969.

19 Dec 2022; MEMO: The former President of Tunisia, Moncef Marzouki, has described what is happening in occupied Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque as "terrorism" as part of an "ongoing war" by Israel against the people of Palestine and the holy sites. Marzouki made his comment as he shared his thoughts on the rise of the far right in Israel backed by extremists around the world, Alresalah.net has reported.

17 Dec 2022; MEMO: The European Parliament has decided to boycott the parliamentary elections on Saturday in Tunisia without stating the reasons behind the decision.

The European Parliament announced in a statement on Friday that it: "Will not send observers to Tunisia to monitor the parliamentary elections that will take place tomorrow, Saturday."

02 Dec 2022; MEMO: The official Hakomitna platform concerned with publishing news from the interim Libyan Government of National Unity announced on Wednesday that President Kais Saied and Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, the head of the Libyan Government of National Unity, have agreed to open the door for full cooperation and addressing any obstacles which disrupt the historic partnership between the two countries.
