26 Nov 2022; MEMO: A Tunisian court on Friday issued a judgement in absentia of six years in prison against Leila Trabelsi, the widow of late Tunisian President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, on charges of "influence peddling".

20 Nov 2022; MEMO: Tunisia and France have signed a 200-million-euro (about $206.9 million) deal to support the North African country's budget, Anadolu reports.

The agreement was signed by Tunisian Economy Minister Samer Saied and French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna on Saturday on the sidelines of the 18th Francophonie summit held in Tunisia.

A statement by the Ministry of Economy quoted Saied as saying that the agreement aims to help Tunisia redress its financial balance and to implement reform plans.

08 Nov 2022; MEMO: Tunisian Ennahda Movement expressed its solidarity with Qatar which has been facing "racist defamation campaigns" as its preparing to kickstart World Cup 2022.

In a statement posted on its Facebook page, Ennahda said: "Brotherly state of Qatar has been subject to a racist defamation campaign as it is preparing to kickstart the World Cup 2022, football tournament."

05 Nov 2022; MEMO: Tunisia's Independent High Authority for Elections (ISIE) announced the acceptance of 1,058 candidacy applications for the legislative elections scheduled to be held on 17 December.

"We accepted 1,058 candidacy applications for the legislative elections out of 1,427," shared Head of ISIE Farouk Bouasker in a press conference on Thursday.

26 October 2022; MEMO: Tunisian President Kais Saied yesterday called for international cooperation to confront the increasing rate of irregular migration from his country, stressing that no local solutions can be found for this phenomenon.

Since the beginning of the year, the phenomenon of irregular migration has been growing in Tunisia due to the economic and social crisis, in addition to similar situations and wars in other African countries.

20 October 2022; MEMO: The Tunisian General Labour Union yesterday threatened a regional transport sector strike for three days, the date of which will be set later.

According to a statement by the union, the administrative body for the transport sector will meet on 21 October and it may decide to implement a sectoral strike.
