19 July 2020; MEMO: Yemen’s Houthi rebel group on Saturday accused UN envoy Martin Griffiths of prolonging the conflict in war-torn Yemen, reports Anadolu Agency.

14 July 2020; MEMO: Houthi drones have been used to bomb Saudi military installations in Jizan, Najran, Asir, Khamis Mushayt and Abha, the group’s spokesperson said yesterday.

Yahya Sarea said the bombs came in response to the crimes committed by the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen; the latest of which has been the massacre committed in Hajjah governorate and the ongoing blockade.

12 July 2020; MEMO: Separate militia groups, one backed by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the other backed by Saudi Arabia, have clashed in Yemen, where both countries are part of a coalition aiming to end the military coup in war-torn Yemen, Anadolu Agency reported on Friday.

09 July 2020; MEMO: The Houthi movement revealed the discovery of arm shipments sent by a US charitable organisation to those engaged in fighting in Yemen.

The movement confirmed targeting military sites in Saudi Arabia and called on citizens and residents to stay away from those locations.

08 July 2020; MEMO: Governor of Yemen’s Al Mahwit region, Saleh Sami, called on UAE Crown Prince, Mohammed Bin Zayed, to lift his hands off Yemen’s oil, gas and ports.

On Twitter, Sami wrote: “Oh, [Saudi-led] coalition, we do not want you to arm our army or maintain our security. We only ask [Mohammed] Bin Zayed to take his hands off our ports and stop preventing the export of our gas and oil through them.”

29 June 2020; MEMO: A Yemeni government official said yesterday that the Governorate of Socotra Archipelago has become subject to “full Emirati sovereignty”.

ADEN, June 26 (NNN-AGENCIES) — The number of malnourished children in Yemen could rise to 2.4 million by the end of the year due to a big shortfall in humanitarian funding, the United Nations children’s agency UNICEF said.

A UNICEF report warned of a rise of 20 per cent in the number of malnourished chidren under the age of five – almost half of all of that age in the country.

ADEN, June 23 (NNN-SABA) – Nearly 30 people were killed on Monday, as fighting continues intensively between Yemen’s government forces and the Houthi militia in the country’s central province of al-Bayda.

“Battles intensified after the Houthi militia carried out new attacks on positions of the government forces in Qaniya, north of al-Bayda province,” the local military official said, on condition of anonymity.

The source confirmed that the fighting resulted in the killing of six members of the government forces and about 24 Houthis, and wounding dozens from both sides.

22 June 2020; MEMO: Yemeni separatists backed by the UAE yesterday expelled dozens of residents of Socotra island after seizing the territory from the internationally-recognised government, an informed government source said.

21 June 2020; MEMO: The Yemeni government on Saturday said that the militia of Southern Transition Council staged “a full-fledged coup in the governorate of Socotra,” a government official said, Anadolu Agency reports.

Quoting an unnamed government official, Yemen’s official news agency reported: “The militias of the so-called Transitional Council in the Socotra carried out a full-fledged coup that undermined state institutions in the province.”
