China’s training to be helpful in improving skill-set of Pakistani professionals; Moin ul Haque

China's lunar probe detects in-situ moon surface water

BEIJING, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) -- Chinese scientists published results of in-situ detection of water signals on the moon by the Chang'e-5 lunar lander, lending new evidence to the dryness of the satellite.

The study published on Saturday in the peer-reviewed journal Science Advances revealed that the lunar soil at the landing site contains less than 120 ppm water or 120g water per ton, and a light, vesicular rock carries 180 ppm, which are much drier than that on Earth.

China: Shenzhou-13 astronauts complete manual rendezvous, docking of space station, cargo craft

BEIJING, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) -- The Shenzhou-13 astronauts in China's space station core module have completed the manual rendezvous and docking experiment with the Tianzhou-2 cargo craft, the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) said Saturday.

At the beginning of the experiment, the astronauts in the core module teleoperated the Tianzhou-2 cargo craft to leave the front docking port of the core module's node cabin and move to the planed parking point, with the coordination of ground control engineers.

Strong earthquake shakes remote area in western China

China: Zhang Ming takes over as SCO secy general

BEIJING, Jan 5 (APP): China’s veteran diplomat, Zhang Ming has assumed charge as new secretary general of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), one of the world’s largest political and economic groupings.

China's market regulator fines Alibaba, Tencent for failing to report deals

SHANGHAI, Jan 5 (Reuters) - China's top market regulator said on Wednesday it has fined units of Alibaba Group Holding Ltd (9988.HK), Tencent Holdings Ltd (0700.HK), and Bilibili Inc for failing to properly report about a dozen deals.

According to public filings, China's State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) placed penalties of 500,000 yuan ($78,692) on the companies per deal, the maximum under China's 2008 anti-monopoly law.

Alibaba, Bilibili, and Tencent did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
