Indian Polls: Mayawati, Akhilesh accuse PM of trying to create rift in alliance

Lucknow, May 5; PTI/GANASHAKTI: A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi charged the SP with going soft on the Congress as part of a "big game" against the BSP, the two "mahagathbandhan" partners blamed the PM on Sunday for trying to create a rift in the alliance.

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati said the alliance "will continue in the future as well", while Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav said the prime minister was "misleading" people.

India: VHP to hold yearly programme in June at Kanpur

Kanpur: It is after the year 2015, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad is going to hold its annual programme at Saraswati Vidya Mandir Inter College from June 7 to 11 at Jajmau here. Every year the Shiksha Varg Manthan is organized in one Prant. 

The Parishad has divided eastern Uttar Pradesh into four different regions like, Awadh, Goraksh, Kashi and Kanpur. This year the Shiksha Varg of all the regions will gather here. 

Deendayal Gaur said as many as 300 workers from 80 districts would get ample training in the 11-day long programmer. 

India: Muzaffarnagar riots: eyewitness' murderer surrenders

Muzaffarnagar, May 5 (PTI) An accused in the murder case of a man, who had witnessed the killings of his two brothers during the Muzaffarnagar riots, has surrendered, officials said Sunday.

Toni, who was carrying a reward of Rs 25,000, surrendered on Saturday evening and the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Rakesh Gautam has sent him to judicial custody, said public prosecutor Gagan Saran.

India: Nagar Nigam's plan for street vendors fail to materialize

KANPUR: Various plans which were proposed by the Nagar Nigam in the month of January this year did not materialize. These plans were aimed at ending overcrowding on the road. Despite the completion of four months nothing concrete has appeared on the road. However, Santosh Kumar Sharma, Nagar Ayukt, said that there was an attempt to remove the deficiencies as soon as it could possibly be done.

'Your Father's Life Ended as Bhrastachari No 1': PM Modi to Rahul Gandhi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Saturday took a dig at Rahul's late father saying, "Your father was termed 'Mr Clean' by his courtiers, but his life ended as 'Bhrastachari number 1' (corrupt number 1)".

According to Outlook, Modi was addressing a BJP rally in Uttar Pradesh's Pratapgarh, where he accused the Congress and its president Rahul Gandhi of attempting to tarnish his image over the Rafale issue.

KANPUR: Though voting has been completed in the city, the residents are still infuriated at the deletion of their names from the voter’s list. A complaint containing their demands like who is responsible for deletion of their names, what is the responsibility of BLO, why were dead voters’ name not deleted, how has polling booth changed, why do names of a family not come in a serial. N Pandit, corporator, has submitted a letter to ADM (city) Vivek Srivastava here on Friday.

Indian EC issues notice to UP CM Adityanath

New Delhi, May 2 (PTI) The Election Commission Thursday issued a show cause notice to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for his "Babur ki aulad" remark.

The EC pointed out that while addressing a rally in Sambhal in Uttar Pradesh on April 19, Adityanath had said "would you hand over the reins of the country to terrorists, to those who call themselves children of Babur (Babur ki aulad)...to those who oppose Bajrangbali".

KANPUR: In view of the Fani cyclone, the district administration has prepared itself to deal with any untoward situation. There is a possibility of high-speed air raging; it can be raged at the speed of even 40 Km/per hour, hail storms, and heavy rains. An alert has been sounded in the city areas. India: Will kill 100 Naxals to avenge Gadchiroli attack: Yogi

Lucknow, May 1 (PTI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Wednesday paid homage to those who died in the Naxal attack in Maharashtra and said that the sacrifice of the 15 police personnel will be avenged by killing atleast 100 Naxals.

"This is a battle of the entire country and 130 crore countrymen are with our brave jawans," he said in an election rally in the state.
