NEW DELHI, May 11 (NNN-PTI) – Indian Railways will start operating a few trains with effect from tomorrow (Tuesday), announced the Ministry of Railways on Sunday.

Booking for train tickets will begin online from Monday (this) evening, added the announcement.

This assumes significance as the country is witnessing lock-down till May 17, to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, which has so far taken more than 2,100 human lives with total cases nearing 63,000.

SYDNEY, May 11 (NNN-AGENCIES) – Australians who broke the law, to protest social distancing restrictions, received harsh rebuke from medical community representatives today, accused of jeopardising an early relaxing of restrictions.

10 May 2020; MEMO: The coronavirus death toll in Iran rose to 6,640 with 51 more fatalities over the past 24 hours, state media reported on Sunday, Anadolu Agency reports.

A further of 1,383 people tested positive for COVID-19 over the past day, raising the overall count to 107,603, Iran’s state broadcaster reported, citing a statement by the Health Ministry.

It said 83,143 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals so far, while 2,675 patients remain in critical condition.

New Delhi, May 9 (PTI) CPI(M) leader Brinda Karat has approached the Delhi High Court seeking an early hearing in her plea for directions to police to make public the list of people arrested in connection with communal violence in northeast Delhi in February this year.

The application for preponing the date of hearing of the petition is likely to be listed on May 12.

San Francisco, May 10 (AP) Tesla CEO Elon Musk threatened Saturday to pull the company's factory and headquarters out of California in an escalating spat with local officials who have stopped the company from reopening its electric vehicle factory.

On Twitter, Musk also threatened to sue over Alameda County Health Department coronavirus restrictions that have stopped Tesla from restarting production its factory in Fremont south of San Francisco.

Lucknow, May 9 (PTI) Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister and Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav was discharged from a Lucknow hospital where he was admitted after he complained of stomach and urine-related issues.

The Samajwadi Party founder, admitted to Medanta Hospital on Wednesday, was discharged on Saturday afternoon and he is fine now, party spokesman Rajendra Chaudhary said.

Thiruvananthapuram, May 9 (PTI) Kerala on Saturday continued to maintain that it flattened the coronavirus curve, with just two fresh cases of expatriates being reported and 16 active cases remaining in hospitals.

"On the 100th day of confirmation of the first case of COVID, Kerala flattened the curve.

Only 16 active cases remain in hospitals.

We are bracing ourselves for the 3rd wave," state Finance Minister Isaac had tweeted earlier in the day.
