India: Woman raped by four people in Rajasthan

Jaipur, Jul 15 (PTI) A 40-year-old woman was allegedly raped by four people in Rajasthan's Karauli district, police said Monday.

An FIR was registered against Ashok Bairwa, Dinesh Bairwa, Girdhar Sharma and Kailash Sharam under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Scheduled Castes and Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act on Sunday, they said.

A medical examination of the victim was conducted on Monday, police said, adding the matter was being probed.

India: Congress-JDS govt to face floor test on July 18, Speaker

As the political turmoil lingered on with the ruling coalition making frenetic efforts to win back rebels who have pushed it to the brink of collapse, Assembly Speaker K R Ramesh Kumar Monday announced the confidence motion sought to be moved by Kumaraswamy would be taken up at 11 am on July 18.

IOC threatens to cut fuel supply to Air India

Mumbai, Jul 15 (PTI) State-owned Air India's flights services are likely to be hit partially as public sector oil marketing firm Indian Oil Corporation has threatened to cut fuel supply at some of the airports from Tuesday evening on non-payment of bills, according to a source.

The disinvestment-bound carrier, which is incurring Rs 15 crore loss per day, has huge dues towards oil companies and Airports Authority of India, among others.

India: WB loan of USD 250 million for Resilent programme in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram, Jul 15 (PTI) Marking its first 'state partnership' in India, the World Bank will extend a USD 250 million loan for the Resilent Programme in Kerala, which had been devastated by worst floods in a century last Augst.

The Centre, state government and the World Bank had last month signed the loan agreement of US

250 million for the programme, which aims at enhancing the state's resilence against the impacts of natural calamities and climate change.

India: Exports dip 9.71 pc after gap of eight months

New Delhi, Jul 15 (PTI) India's exports have entered negative zone after a gap of eight months recording a decline of 9.71 per cent to USD 25.01 billion in June, according to the government data.

Imports also declined 9 per cent to USD 40.29 billion in June mainly due to falling prices of petroleum products, leaving a trade deficit of USD 15.28 billion.

It was USD 16.6 billion in June last year. Last time it was in September 2018, when exports contracted by 2.15 per cent.

India: VBA offers 40 seats to Congress for Maha poll alliance

Mumbai, Jul 15 (PTI) Prakash Ambedkar-led Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) has offered 40 out of total 288 seats to the crisis-hit Congress if it wanted to enter into an alliance for the upcoming assembly elections in Maharashtra.

Announcing that the VBA, which also comprises AIMIM, is ready to contest all 288 constituencies, Ambedkar said the Congress has become rudderless.

Canadian IndiGo pilot robbed near Delhi Cantt

New Delhi, Jul 15 (PTI) A Canadian employed as a pilot with IndiGo airline was allegedly robbed of over Rs 1 lakh by three men on a taxi he had boarded near Delhi Cantt area here, police said Monday.

The incident took place on the intervening night of July 12 and July 13 when Mohammad Mehdu Ghanzanfani, a captain with the airline, was waiting for his company cab, police said.

India: Six more die of JE in Assam, toll rises to 82

Guwahati, Jul 15 (PTI) Six more people died of Japanese Encephalitis (JE) in Assam on Monday, taking the toll to 82, a National Health Mission (NHM) bulletin said.

The number of JE positive cases in the state increased to 374 with 82 cases being reported on Monday, it said.

One death each was reported from Barpeta, Darrang, Hailakandi, Jorhat, Lakhimpur and Tinsukia districts, the NHM bulletin said.

Delhi govt built 23 flyovers in 4.5 yrs: CM Kejriwal

New Delhi, Jul 16 (PTI) Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal Tuesday inaugurated the 2.85 km signal-free new RTR Flyover, and said a few more such projects will come up in the national capital before the end of his government's tenure.

The elevated corridor of Rao Tula Ram Flyover, built at a cost of Rs 205 crore on the Outer Ring Road, will help decongest the area and prove a boon for people commuting towards the IGI airport from south Delhi and Noida.
