07 July 2021; MEMO: Saudi Arabia said it supports Egypt and Sudan in "preserving their legitimate water rights," Reuters reported the state news agency (SPA) saying yesterday.

"The kingdom supports the efforts of Egypt and Sudan to contain this crisis and their demands to solve it in accordance with the rules of international law. It also supports international moves aimed at finding a binding solution to end it," SPA added.

Kanpur: With the green signal to the second phase of the underground Metro project, the traffic on the Bada Chauraha crossing and the Parade road will be closed.

To avoid traffic trouble the diversion plan of the vehicles will be prepared by the joint team of the Nagar Nigam, Traffic Police and the Metro project officers. 

Around one hundred meter patch will be used on both the roads for excavation and other related works.

New Delhi, Jul 7 (PTI) Health Minister Harsh Vardhan, whose handling of the COVID-19 crisis drew flak from critics, resigned from the Union Council of Ministers on Wednesday, official sources said.

The resignation came hours before Prime Minister Narendra Modi carries out a major expansion and reshuffle of his Council of Ministers in which 43 new members are expected to take oath.

Kolkata, Jul 5 (PTI) The Trinamool Congress will stage protests across West Bengal on July 10 and 11 against the spiralling fuel prices and the alleged lack of response towards the issue by the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre, senior party leader Partha Chatterjee said Monday.

TMC activists and supporters will hold sit-ins in all district towns and blocks from 10 am to 4 pm on July 10 and 11, Chatterjee told reporters at the party headquarters here.

Addressing the CoWIN Global Conclave via video conference, Modi said experience shows that no nation, no matter how powerful, can solve a challenge like this pandemic in isolation.

04 July 2021; MEMO: Iraq backs a proposal by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its allies to extend a pact on output curbs until December 2022, Oil Minister Ihsan Abdul Jabbar said on Sunday, adding he expected oil prices to remain at $70 per barrel or above until then, reports Reuters.

05 July 2021; MEMO: Lebanon is suffering from an acute shortage of imported drugs, particularly for chronic diseases, amid a lack of foreign exchange in the country, Lebanese pharmaceutical importers warned on Sunday, reports Anadolu Agency.

"The importing companies have run out of hundreds of essential medicines that treat chronic and incurable diseases," the Syndicate of Lebanese Pharmaceutical Importers said in a statement, noting that this situation has been ongoing for weeks.

New Delhi, Jul 5 (PTI) India's services sector activities contracted further in June as the intensification of the COVID-19 crisis and reintroduction of containment measures restricted demand, a monthly survey said on Monday.

The seasonally adjusted India Services Business Activity Index fell from 46.4 in May to 41.2 in June, as new work intakes and output contracted at the fastest rates since July 2020, which prompted companies to reduce employment again.
