US Will Not Win Russia’s Concessions By Exerting Pressure Of Sanctions – Ambassador

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct 7 (NNN-TASS) – The United States should stop exerting pressure on Russia, using a policy of sanctions, as experience shows that, this approach does not work with regard to Moscow, Russian Ambassador to the United States, Anatoly Antonov, said, speaking at the Fort Ross Dialogue international forum in San Francisco.

According to him, Washington should stop “the policy of exerting pressure on other countries by using sanctions.”

“Experience shows that it is impossible to win concessions from us by exerting pressure,” Antonov continued.

Turkish firm esports heating fabrics

6 Oct 2019; AA: A Turkish entrepreneur is now exporting a heating fabric, developed from 100% local sources, for €20 ($22) a square meter, said executives of the firm on Saturday.

The innovative new fabric can dissipate heat with low voltage and can be used in numerous fields, such as the automotive, health, textile, and defense sectors, Ayhan Prepol, a co-founder of Iltema, which makes the fabric, told Anadolu Agency.

India: Fin Min to kick-start budgetary exercise from Oct 14

New Delhi, Oct 6 (PTI) The finance ministry will kick-start the exercise to prepare annual Budget for 2020-21 from October 14 which, among other thing, will have to address critical issues pertaining to slowdown in growth and subdued revenue collection.

It will be the second Budget of both the Modi 2.0 government and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

Kashmiris throng weekly flea market in Srinagar

Srinagar, Oct 6 (PTI) People thronged the weekly flea market in Jammu and Kashmir's summer capital on Sunday even as some shops in the city opened in the morning hours, officials said.

However, main markets across Kashmir were shut and most of the public transport was off the roads as normal life remained affected in the valley for the 63rd consecutive day, they said.

The weekly flea market, locally known as Sunday market, was open as several dozen vendors had put up stalls on the TRC Chowk-Lal Chowk road, the officials said.

Ethiopia rejects presence of more party in Ethiopian dam talks

KHARTOUM, Oct 6 (NNN-Xinhua) — Ethiopia rejected presence of another party in the negotiations between Sudan, Egypt and Ethiopia on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD).

The remarks were made by Ethiopia’s Minister of Water, Irrigation and Electricity Seleshi Bekele at a press conference in the capital Khartoum.

EU presses UK to resubmit Brexit plan as end-game looms

BRUSSELS, Oct 6 (NNN-AGENCIES) — British Prime Minister Boris Johnson started phoning EU leaders Saturday to sell his proposals for a managed Brexit, but he met with pressure to revise his offer — and to do so quickly.

Finnish counterpart Antti Rinne — whose country currently holds the rotating presidency of the European Union — said he told Johnson “it is important to find a solution within a week”.

“Johnson said he agreed with the timetable,” Rinne added.
