Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman told Indian National Security Adviser Ajit Doval that he understands "India's approach and actions in Jammu and Kashmir".

Message was communicated during a 2 hour meeting between Doval and Prince Salman in Riyadh on Wednesday, sources told ANI.

RCEP trade ministers to meet in Bangkok on Oct 10-12

New Delhi, Oct 2 (PTI) Trade ministers of 16 RCEP countries, including India and Japan, will hold a crucial meeting in Bangkok next week to take stock of the negotiations that are in the last phase, an official said.

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal will attend the eighth RCEP (Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership) Ministerial Meeting being held in Bangkok from 10-12 October.

The official said that this would probably be the last ministerial-level meeting as only a few issues like rules of origin are pending for finalisation.

UK PM to unveil new Brexit plan - and threat

Downing Street said Johnson would give details of a "fair and reasonable compromise" in his closing address to the gathering in Manchester, and would table the plans in Brussels the same day.

European Bank To Fund Public Transport Project In Lebanon’s Tripoli

BEIRUT, Oct 2 (NNN-NNA) – The European Investment Bank, announced that, it will fund the public transport project, for Lebanon’s northern city of Tripoli.

“The bank is ready to finance the project, as a basic need to solve the traffic crisis in Tripoli, in addition to finalising the railway studies, for building a railway from Beirut to Tripoli,” the bank’s delegation said, during its meeting with Lebanese Public Works and Transport Minister, Youssef Fenianos.

Britain To Import Lebanese Products, Invest In Lebanon

BEIRUT, Oct 2 (NNN-XINHUA) – Britain’s Trade Envoy to Lebanon, Lord Richard Risby, assured that, his country will facilitate the entry of Lebanese products to the UK.

“We will work on importing Lebanese products even after our country’s exit from the European Union,” Risby was quoted as saying, during his meeting with Lebanese private sector representatives, at Beirut’s Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture.

Risby emphasised the need to increase cooperation between the two countries, in technology and knowledge economy.

Equatorial Guinea VP’s supercars sold for $27m at Swiss auction

GENEVA, Oct 2 (NNN-AGENCIES) — Following the seizure of 25 supercars from Equatorial Guinea’s vice president as part of a Swiss money-laundering probe, an auction held by Bonhams fetched nearly $27 million (27 million Swiss francs).

Geneva prosecutors said in February that they had closed an inquiry into Teodoro Nguema Obiang for money laundering and misappropriation of public assets with an arrangement to sell the cars to fund social programmes in the west African state.

Mexican lower house passes junk-food label law

MEXICO CITY, Oct 2 (NNN-AGENCIES) — Mexico’s lower house unanimously passed a Bill to make manufacturers put warning labels on junk food, defying industry pressure in a bid to protect consumers’ health in one of the world’s most obese countries.

The Bill, which requires food packages to carry labels on the front if the contents are high in sugar, sodium or saturated fat, passed the Chamber of Deputies with 445 votes in favor and three abstentions.

Cuba: UN General Assembly continues to voice condemnation of US blockade

UNITED NATIONS, Oct 2 (NNN-Prensa Latina) — More than 40 countries condemned the United States blockade against Cuban and expressed their solidarity with the Caribbean island during the high-level segment of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

According to the Cuban Mission to the UN, 43 States from different continents demanded the lifting of blockade, which Washington has imposed for nearly 60 years and which has caused damages of 922.63 billion dollars to the island during that period.

Saudi Arabia credit rating downgraded by prominent ratings agency

1 Oct 2019; MEMO: Saudi Arabia’s economic prospect has been hit with more bad news after the kingdom was downgrading by Fitch Ratings. The agency, considered one of the largest ratings firms in the world, lowered Riyad’s rating from A+ to A citing vulnerabilities in the kingdom’s economic infrastructure, diminishing financial reserves, deteriorating balance sheets and rising government debt.
