Palestinian Boy Killed By Israeli Soldiers In West Bank: Health Ministry

RAMALLAH, Feb 23 (NNN-WAFA) – A 14-year-old Palestinian boy was killed yesterday, by Israeli soldiers, in the central West Bank city of Bethlehem, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said.

Mohammad Shehada, 14, was shot and killed by Israeli soldiers’ gunfire, in the town of al-Khader near Bethlehem, said the ministry in a statement.

Meanwhile, eyewitnesses said that the boy was killed during clashes, that broke out in the town between dozens of Palestinian demonstrators and Israeli soldiers.

There has been no response to the incident from the Israeli military.

Israel demolishes Arab village in Negev for 198th times

23 Feb 2022; MEMO: Israeli occupation forces yesterday demolished the Arab village of Al-Araqeeb in the Negev for the 198th time since 2010, Assabeel newspaper reported.

According to the paper, this is the second time the Bedouin village has been demolished since the start of 2022, noting that it was demolished 14 times in 2021.

Israel forces shoot, kill Palestinian boy in West Bank

23 Feb 2022; MEMO: Israeli occupation forces yesterday shot and killed a 14-year-old boy in Al-Khader town, near the occupied West Bank city of Bethlehem, the Ministry of Health said.

The boy was identified as Mohammed Shehadeh. Eyewitnesses said Israeli occupation forces shot and critically wounded him during protests against the Israeli army's raid of the town. Occupation forces had opened fire at Palestinians.

Palestine: Church leaders urge Israel to halt Jerusalem land confiscation

21 Feb 2022; MEMO: Leaders of Jerusalem churches, on Monday, warned of an Israeli plan to confiscate church-owned lands in the occupied city, Anadolu News Agency reports.

In a letter directed to Israeli Environmental Protection Minister, Tamar Zandberg, dated 18 February, the church leaders said there is a plan to expand an Israeli park onto the Olive Mount in East Jerusalem and called for halting it.

Palestine: Withdrawing my diplomatic passport will not change my positions: Al-Qudwa

22 Feb 2022; MEMO: Former member of Fatah's Central Committee Nasser Al-Qudwa said yesterday that the withdrawal of his diplomatic passport will not change his positions, Quds Press reported.

This came following the Palestinian Authority (PA)'s decision to strip him of his diplomatic passport after he made a number of statements which were critical of the PA, PLO and Fatah Chairman Mahmoud Abbas.

Jerusalem's issue is the top priority: Sheikh Raed Salah

22 Feb 2022; MEMO: Head of the Islamic Movement in Israel, Sheikh Raed Salah, yesterday described the issue of Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque as the top priority, Anadolu reported.

During a speech he delivered at the inauguration of Al-Aqsa Week organised by the Palestinian Engineers' Syndicate in Nablus, Sheikh Salah said: "Jerusalem will win as it has been a winner throughout history. It will remain a winner until the day of judgement."

Hamas Denies Progress On Prisoner Exchange Deal With Israel

GAZA, Feb 21 (NNN-WAFA) – The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement of Hamas, said yesterday, there has been no progress towards reaching a prisoner exchange deal with Israel.

Zaher Jabarin, a member of Hamas’s politburo, said in a press statement that, “until now, there is no progress, because the Israeli side is not taking any serious steps” regarding the issue.

Jabarin was responding to Israeli Labour Party lawmaker, Emilie Haya Moatti’s remark that, indirect negotiations between the Hamas and Israel for a prisoner exchange deal have witnessed progress.

Palestine Condemns Israel’s Refusal To Cooperate With UN Inquiry Commission

RAMALLAH, Feb 19 (NNN-WAFA) – Palestine yesterday condemned Israel’s refusal to cooperate with a United Nations (UN) commission of inquiry, into the tension that broke out in the Gaza Strip in May, 2021.

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry said, in a statement that, it condemns the Israeli government’s decision to deny the entry of the commission’s representatives to Israel and the Palestinian territories.
