Israel settlers pollute spring water in West Bank

05 Feb 2022; MEMO: Israeli settlers on Friday intentionally polluted the water of a spring in the West Bank village of Qaryout, north of Nablus, Anadolu Agency reported.

"The settlers raided the area, broke the lock of the water spring, damaged the fence around it and poured unknown material with a dirty smell in the water," activist Bashar Al-Qaryouti confirmed.

He added: "They did so to turn the water unsafe for drinking or farming."

159 Anti-Settlement Palestinians Injured During Clashes With Israeli Soldiers In West Bank: Medics

RAMALLAH, Feb 5 (NNN-WAFA) – About 159 Palestinian protesters were injured yesterday, during clashes with Israeli soldiers in the West Bank, according to the Palestine Red Crescent Society.

The medical teams treated 79 Palestinians injured by Israeli soldiers near the villages of Beita and Beit Dajan, located south and east of Nablus city, respectively, the Red Crescent said, in a statement. Among the 79 injured Palestinians were two young men shot by live bullets and moved by ambulance to the main hospital in Nablus.

Palestine Adds 6,570 New COVID-19 Cases, 10 Deaths

RAMALLAH/GAZA, Feb 5 (NNN-WAFA) – Palestine yesterday reported 6,570 new COVID-19 cases and 10 deaths in the last 24 hours, in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, a Palestinian official said.

Palestinian Health Minister, Mai al-Kaila told reporters in the West Bank city of Ramallah that, her ministry is deeply concerned over the surging coronavirus cases.

“Five died in the West Bank, and five others died in the Gaza Strip from the virus,” she said. “The death toll has risen to 5,144 since the first case of COVID-19 was reported in Palestine in Mar 2020.”

03 Feb 2022; MEMO: Secretary-General of Amnesty International, Agnes Callamard, said yesterday that the organisation will do everything possible to expose Israel's practices of apartheid, Wafa news agency reported.

During a meeting with Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas in the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah, Callamard and Abbas discussed the report and pledged to take further steps in cooperation with other countries.

Israel demolishes another Palestinian home in occupied West Bank

Israeli forces demolished a new Palestinian home on Sunday, in the latest spate of demolitions in the occupied West Bank, according to a local official, Anadolu reports.

The house was razed in the village of Al-Aqaba in the northern West Bank area of Al-Aghwar in the Jordan Valley, said Moataz Bisharat, who is responsible for monitoring Israeli settlement building activity in Tubas.

He said Israeli forces cited lack of a building permit in Area C for the demolition.

Israel bars entry of warm clothes into unheated cells of Palestinian detainees

27 Jan 2022; MEMO: Palestinian detainees in Israeli jails are suffering from the cold due to a lack of heating, along with authorities' blocking of donations of winter clothes, a Palestinian official body said Thursday, and Anadolu News Agency reports.

"All detainees suffer from shortages of clothes and blankets and the lack of heating means that could protect them from the cold weather," the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO)-run Commission for Detainees and Ex-Detainees' Affairs said in a statement.
