Palestinian PM condemns killing of Palestinian child near Jerusalem

RAMALLAH, March 6 (Xinhua) -- Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Ishtaye condemned on Sunday the killing of a 14-year-old boy by Israeli soldiers in Abu Dis, a town southeast of Jerusalem, the official Palestinian news agency (WAFA) reported.

Ishtaye warned of what he termed as "the dangerous repercussions of the escalation of killings and field executions committed by the Israeli forces in the Palestinian territories."

Palestine under pressure to take position on Ukraine war

06 March 2022; MEMO: Palestine is facing pressure to take a position regarding the Russian war in Ukraine, according to the Palestinian foreign minister, Anadolu Agency reported.

"We are under pressure to take a stand regarding what is happening in Ukraine," Riyad al-Maliki told the official Palestine TV.

"Certainly, pressure continues on us in all directions, as well as all other countries to take a position on the Ukrainian crisis," he added.

Israel wants to demolish 800 Palestinian homes in occupied Jerusalem

07 March 2022; MEMO: The Israeli occupation municipality in Jerusalem wants to demolish 800 Palestinian homes in the Jabal Al-Mukaber neighbourhood, Al-Resalah reported on Sunday. According to Tariq Owaisat of the Follow-up Committee in Jabal Al-Mukaber, the municipality wants to destroy the homes to make way for a commercial centre and 500 housing units for Jews.

Palestine: Israel settler shoots, wounds 4 Palestinians in Hebron

05 March 2022; MEMO: An extremist Israeli settler opened fire on Friday at Palestinians in the West Bank city of Hebron, wounding four people, including three children, Wafa News Agency reported.

Witnesses told Wafa that an armed Israeli settler opened fire on the four Palestinians while they were outside the illegal Israeli settlement of Bat Romano, located in the heart of the city.

Palestine: Dozens injured in intense West Bank clashes with occupation

05 March 2022; MEMO: Dozens of civilians have been injured and suffocated in clashes that broke out in several occupied West Bank cities, between hundreds of youths and Israeli occupation forces.

The revolting youths targeted settlers' vehicles with stones on the settlement road near the town of Azzun, east of Qalqilya. The occupation then deployed forces extensively in the area, searching for the youths.

Over 130 Palestinians Injured In Clashes With Israeli Soldiers In West Bank: Medics

RAMALLAH, Mar 5 (NNN-WAFA) – More than 130 Palestinian protesters were injured yesterday, during clashes with Israeli soldiers, in the West Bank, said medics and eyewitnesses.

Palestinian eyewitnesses said, fierce clashes broke out near the villages of Beita and Beit Dajan, located to the south and east of Nablus city and near Kafr Qaddum village, east of Qalqilya.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society said, at least 128 Palestinian demonstrators were injured, including 36 by rubber bullets. The others suffered from inhaling the teargas, the medics said.

In light of international support for Ukraine, Palestine calls to stop double-standards

05 March 2022; MEMO: In light of international support for Ukraine, Palestinians have called for the international community to stop its double-standards policy and back the Palestinian cause.

"When colour, religion and race become an identity, its when values, morals and humanity are lost," member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO), Hussein Al-Sheikh, posted on Twitter.

Number of illegal settlers in West Bank, Jordan Valley close to half a million

05 March 2022; MEMO: Israeli media outlets have revealed the number of settlers in the occupied West Bank and the Jordan Valley, stressing that the percentage of settlers has increased by 43 per cent since 2011.

The newspaper Israel Today stated that the number of Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank and the Jordan Valley had reached 491,923 as of last January, distributed among approximately 150 settlements.

Occupied Jerusalem: Israeli army closes Sheikh Jarrah to secure settlers' rally

03 March 2022; MEMO: Israeli security forces closed Sheikh Jarrah in the centre of occupied East Jerusalem on Wednesday in order to secure a rally organised by Israeli settlers in the neighbourhood, Anadolu has reported.

According to a Facebook post by the Wadi Hilweh Information Centre, the Israeli forces closed the neighbourhood with steel barriers and deployed more armed personnel at the checkpoints. Eyewitnesses said that Israeli police arrested a Palestinian youth while implementing the closure by force.
